The Opportunity    
 

We are seeking a Senior Finance Manager to support our business integration and transformation efforts. This role involves working closely with the Finance Lead, Chapter Area Lead, CFO, and business unit leaders to ensure a smooth and successful integration. You will be responsible for establishing governance and operating rhythms on financial control matters, including financial reporting, compliance, and risk management.
 

Key responsibilities include supporting accounting aspects of business acquisitions, managing financial close processes, and ensuring compliance with IFRS, US GAAP, and other regulatory requirements. You will coordinate with various leaders on integration strategies, identify and implement best practices, and optimise finance function efficiency. Additionally, you will manage and develop a team of finance professionals, providing coaching and career development guidance.

You will monitor and report on financial performance, provide insights and recommendations to senior management, and ensure that financial processes and controls align with Resolution Life’s risk appetite.
 

This role offers a permanent full-time contract and embraces flexible working arrangements. You’ll have the freedom to work remotely, with occasional office attendance required on an ad hoc basis ensuring a harmonious balance between business needs and personal flexibility.
 

Your Story

  • Support the business integration and process transformation, area may include, payroll accounting, investment accounting, financial reporting, management reporting, budgeting, balance sheet reconciliations – and across multiple reporting basis

  • Coordinate and collaborate with the Finance Lead and the business unit leaders on the business integration strategy, objectives, and priorities.

  • Identify and implement best practices, process improvements, and system enhancements to optimise the efficiency and effectiveness of the financial control function.

  • Ensure that the design and execution of financial control activities complies within the RLA risk appetite, meeting regulatory requirements, and internal policies.

  • Manage and develop a team of finance professionals, and provide coaching and guidance on their career development.

  • Monitor and report on the financial performance and key metrics, and provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
     

Qualification and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred.

  • Progressive experience in finance, accounting, or audit, preferably in a financial service (Life Insurance) and complex organisation

  • Expert knowledge of the financial reporting cycle, accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal control best practices for the Australia and New Zealand business

  • Sound technical knowledge on IFRS 17 essential

  • At least 2 years of work experience in a managerial role

  • Experience in mergers and acquisitions, in particular, business integration.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and financial modelling tools.

  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical standards
