Job Summary

Assist in the overall management of a Human Resource Department. Administration of Labor Contracts agreements and interpretation and practices. Direct and administer Plant Safety Programs. Administration of benefit and compensation programs and policies. Compliance with federal and state laws and regulations.

MAIN POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

MAIN POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administer Timecards / payroll process through UKG & Workday.
  • Administer Labor Contract - Provide advice and counsel to management and bargaining unit personnel on plant practices, and contract interpretations.  Participate in Labor Management meetings. Process grievances.
  • Direct Safety and Health Programs. - Develop and supervise safety programs to meet established goals and maintain awareness. Perform compliance audits.  Participate in Safety Meetings
  • Develop Employees - Conduct training and development programs.  Identify labor needs, post bids, schedule necessary training.  Supervise Apprenticeship Training Programs. 
  • Administer Benefit Compensation Programs - Communicate and coordinate group medical, retirement, 401(k) savings, and holiday and vacation policies.  Coordinate plant medical services, and plant insurance claim processing.
  • Staff and Schedule - Supervise daily plant manning and schedule all departments to approved levels.  Administer absentee policies and vacation schedules.  Recruit and interview applicants for all plant personnel positions.
  • Legal and Regulatory Compliance Oversee; advise on Labor, EEO and OSHA standards. Counsel employees on various compliance matters. 

EMPLOYEE QUALIFICATIONS:

BS/BA required in a related area and at least 2 years of experience in the field or SHRM certification.

Proficient in Microsoft office including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.

Must be able to communicate effectively by phone, in person and in writing with peers and various levels of management within the company and with agencies and vendors externally.

Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive payroll information.
