Job Description
The Learning & Development (L&D) and Communication Manager will contribute to foster a culture of engagement, collaboration and continuous learning within our organization. This dual-function position is responsible for developing and executing a vision and strategic roadmap for learning and development while also managing internal communication activities that align with our organizational objectives. This role will collaborate closely with senior management to ensure that our values, vision, and strategic priorities are effectively communicated to all employees and enabled through appropriate learning tools.
Learning and Development:
1. Needs Assessment & Strategic Planning:
Understand training and development needs of different teams
Act as a point of contact for global L&D organization and be aware of relevant global and local resources and programs
Establish a vision and a roadmap composed of initiatives that will support the local organization to reach its strategic ambitions
2. Implementation and Monitoring:
Follow-up on and facilitate the implementation of prioritized training programs, by leveraging internal resources or by connecting to external partners
Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and continuously improve training offerings
3. Learning Organization Enablement:
Encourage learning and create awareness around relevant learning resources
Identify and create opportunities to increase knowledge level around collective and important topics via different channels and initiatives
Internal Communication:
1. Strategic Communication Planning:
Develop and implement an internal communication plan that aligns with the organizational objectives and the corporate communication strategy
Establish clear communication goals for specific internal target audiences, and select the most appropriate communication channels
2. Content Creation and Management:
Manage content for various internal communication platforms, including newsletters and intranet sites, based on topics provided by departments
Ensure information is distributed appropriately by leveraging existing or developing new internal communication channels
3. Employee Engagement:
Foster an inclusive work environment by creating and implementing initiatives aimed at promoting employee engagement, such as town halls and feedback forums to encourage two-way communication
Monitor employee feedback and engagement metrics to assess the effectiveness of internal communication initiatives
4. Collaboration with Leadership:
Work closely with senior management, to effectively communicate the organization’s vision, values, and strategic priorities
Serve as a liaison between leadership and employees, facilitating open communication and feedback channels
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field
Proven experience (5+ years) in learning and development, internal communications, or a similar role
Strong understanding of employee engagement strategies and communication best practices
Excellent organizational / project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage a diverse range of stakeholders
Ability to navigate complexity, work in a cross-functional environment and synthesize different points of view to reach consensus
Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization, including senior leadership
Dutch and/or French and proficient in English
