Role purpose

The key purpose of the Senior Operations Manager is to manage the day to day building services and maintenance of the shopping centre to ensure the highest standard of customer touch-points, centre presentation and ambience, customer safety, and comfort standards of the centre are upheld. The Senior Operations Manager will also support the Regional Manager and Regional Operations Manager to offer support, guidance and be a senior resource to the Operations Managers within the region/state, to ensure efficient, consistent and professional operational management is maintained across the region.

This will include:
• Ensuring that specific maintenance standards, agreed quality standards and all legal requirements, OH&S and Work cover are met. This includes providing direction to ensure maintenance costs are kept to a minimum while still meeting quality standards and fulfilling contractual and other legal requirements
• Providing technical and operations advice to generate continuous improvement initiatives
• Managing contracts to ensure agreed service levels are maintained while optimising costs
• Maximising the everyday satisfaction of customers and retailers
• Developing and controlling of the budget for the business unit and preparing reporting requirements
• Training all relevant team members in relation to the asset and quality management systems
• Motivating, developing and improving their team through coaching and training, to build high performing teams who operate within a high-performance culture that collaboratively drive best business outcomes

This role is pivotal to the successful running of the centre, helping to bring the Vicinity brand to life by enriching the experience for our customers, retailers, suppliers and our people.

What will you bring?

You will be an experiences Operations or Facilities Management professional with a strong understanding of building operations, legislative requirements, WH&S and project management.  You will have excellent financial acumen with experience in preparing and reviewing monthly budgets, re-forecasting in line with cash flow and business reviews. You will have experience in strategic contract management with a proven track record of management of large contracts and maintaining stakeholder relationships. You will be a strong people leader who is able to lead a team (both directly and indirectly) and have a proven track record in leading and developing teams to achieve growth, personal development and results. A customer focused leader who understands the dynamic nature of market leading retail shopping centres. Your broad industry knowledge will allow you to understand and influence the regions energy strategy, waste strategy and strategic initiatives. A relevant tertiary qualification is desirable.
