As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will assist with day to day crane operations in support of manufacturing, assembly, and testing of flight hardware for various spaceflight systems. You will also supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in Critical Lift Planning, rigging , lifting operations, to ensure compliance with safety procedures and approved processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Production Services and Integration teams. Develop resource plans, training curriculums, job descriptions, conduct interviews, make hiring recommendations, assign tasks, and conduct performance reviews.
  • Responsible for leading work crews engaged in moving materials, and machines. Competent with all powered and non-powered lifting equipment such as hoists, pulleys, winches, jacks, skates, overhead cranes, mobile cranes, etc.
  • Ability to read, interpret and follow procedures. Competent in reading and understanding specifications, drawings, and all other discipline related project and engineering documentation.
  • Assist Integration managers with transition from development to production by working alongside engineering to successfully transition the product.
  • Ensure crane operators receive required online and classroom training and training records remain in compliance.
  • Interface with production Control, to prioritize work based on production schedule and organizational goals.
  • Work with engineering to document and continuously improve production processes.
  • Review work instructions and provide recommended changes where necessary.
  • Ensure product quality and conformance to engineering specifications.
  • Support the setup of new production work areas, including layouts, and equipment setup, etc.
  • Assist Integration managers with transition from development to production by working alongside engineering to successfully transition the product.
  • Coordinate and communicate needs with Mobile crane companies when needed.
  • Manage invoicing for outside crane vendors.
  • Ensure rigging, hardware and lifting devices are used correctly, thoroughly inspected, and always in compliance with company policies.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ Experience handling  launch vehicles across a range of vehicle subsystems including avionics, fluids, and mechanical.
  • Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test procedures.
  • Ability to develop and implement Critical lift plans in the field.
  • Ability to precisely follow Critical lift plans and procedures prepared by Engineering.
  • Ability to work effectively with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced dynamic team environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilities.
  • Basic computer skills such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Must be able to set a high hiring bar while evaluating and hiring top talent.
  • Highly important to be customer focused with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intense curiosity for understanding the details of our business and how to optimize it.
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills and a proven ability to drive complex projects with minimal oversight.
  • Work off-shift, extended hours, overtime, and weekends if/when necessary.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

  • Broad/deep Crane Operations planning skill set
  • Certified Lift director
  • Certified Critical Lift Operator
  • Advanced rigg
  • Aerospace background with experience handling high value aerospace components.
  • Experienced working in a Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and AS9110 environment
