What we offer
What you will do:
· Perform the maintenance and monitoring of the Building Operational Technology (OT) systems and low voltage controls components to the highest standards of quality
· Diagnoses and repairs of electronic control systems, develops knowledge of a variety of electronic or digital controls systems and ability to write and test modifications in automation software languages.
· Fault analysis, rectification of technical issues using available documentation such as shop drawings, As-builts, single-line diagram etc. and reporting outcomes to authorities.
· Communicate with customers upon arrival and before leaving the work site. Ensures high levels of customer satisfaction. Meet regularly with customers to become familiar with operational problems. Keeps customer informed on outstanding issues and recommends system enhancements, upgrades, and/ or repairs.
· With the support of the team’s energy manager, investigates and implements energy conservation measures in the building automation systems.
· Provides after-hours remote site support and emergency response on a rotating basis with other specialists.
· Provides support to the Integrated Operations Centre Support team and to other JCI-operated facilities to reduce operational risk.
· Conducts extensive self-study (reading, research and practice) to improve and maintain technical proficiency in JCI’s product lines. Completes certifications as required by the company.
How you will do it:
· Performing troubleshooting and system diagnostics for all levels of system controllers as well as end devices (i.e. Sensors, actuators, switches etc.) while making full use of submittal packages and technical documentation for self-guidance.
· Keeping management and JCI contractors or customers informed of job progress and issues.
· Calibrating systems using basic electronic test equipment.
· Completing administrative tasks including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) QFM, and on-site documentation.
· Documenting changes and providing information for as-built documentation.
· Executing company directed as well as personally initiated training to ensure the highest level of knowledge and capability are maintained.
· Engaging with customers & affiliates to fully understand their systems and needs.
· Abiding by JCI Policies and following all safety standards, attending required safety training & modules.
What we look for:
· Understanding of HVAC systems & applications, sequence of operation, Building Performance & Energy Efficiency Solutions.
· Demonstrated technical aptitude in mechanical and electro-mechanical fields.
· Prior knowledge of Johnson Controls proprietary software, tools and applications.
· Ability to resolve complex technical problems, enhance system reliability and performance.
· Understanding of circuit design & system integration.
· Skills in OT / IT, network communication and Application Server maintenance.
· Completion of 4 years engineering degree program in Engineering Systems, Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics.
· Strong verbal, listening and written communication skills.
· This is a full-time job. Availability and flexibility in working hours are expected from the employee when needed.
· Availability to work after-hours on-call and overtime when applicable
· Must have a reliable personal vehicle with valid Level G Ontario Driver’s License.
· Eligible & able to travel within North America to attend in-person training and/ or perform assigned duties at work site.
