What you will do
Supporting Johnson Controls’ Center Solutions/Silent-Aire group, you will be responsible for the strategic direction and leadership for the overall manufacturing operations, which includes Plant Management, Panel Shop, Testing and Fabrication Department. You will effectively and efficiently manage the development and directions of the Manufacturing Operation Team to drive the growth of revenue, technical productivity and promote high quality customer satisfaction to meet the company operational goals.
How you will do it
Responsible for leading a Zero Harm culture with prioritization of Environmental, Health, and Safety principles.
Owner of all production processes and personnel.
Responsible for safety, quality, and throughput at five (5) plants of > 2000 staff.
Execute over $500M revenue, per annum.
Establish the overall vision and direction for the implementation of the internal production operations,
Develop and implement new business strategies for creating and/or improving processes and procedures to improve corporate performance.
Monitor departmental performance against goals to ensure that progress is being made and that corrective action is taken if necessary.
Meet regularly with department heads / business unit leaders; facilitate resolution of issues / problems between business units and / or departments.
Responsible for appropriate staff levels to meet requirements of the department.
Responsible for aiding in recruitment, hiring, terminations and performance management.
Manage the morale in the department by setting and demonstrating a strong business ethic for dealing with employees, suppliers and customers.
Enhance and develop policies, procedures and service systems to meet the goals of the department.
Monitor financial performance to ensure production is meeting or exceeding budgetary commitment.
Analyze and report on the daily, monthly and annually department’s key performance indicators and industry trends.
Develop and implement strategies around improving the financial performance of the department.
Handle customer enquiries and complaints which are escalated from the departments.
Analyze customer concerns and present options to solve their issue(s).
Measure and monitor key customer service areas.
Review and use the monthly Profit and Loss statements to ensure expense control and proactively plan service and sales goals.
Examine reports (e.g., inventory, sales and daily reports) to determine the operational activities of the company and ensure optimum performance.
Ensure that all reporting employees adhere to company policies and procedures.
Performs other duties as required.
What we look for
Required:
Technical or business administration degree or equivalent (advanced degree preferred)
Broad based knowledge of the industry and company operations required
10 years' progressively responsible experience with at least 5 years in management
Knowledge of Environmental, Health, and Safety principles and adherence to the PPE policies in a manufacturing setting
Excellent management, negotiating, and organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to lead a team and achieve results
Experience in budgeting, project management, and supervision of accounting, operations, and human resources
Strong interpersonal and communications skills including presentation skills (senior leaders and customers)
Able to prioritize and focus associates on appropriate tasks
Proficient with word processing and spreadsheets (and other computer skills)
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret financial documents and spreadsheets
Works well under pressure and makes deadlines
Works effectively in an entrepreneurial, collaborative environment, and is able to direct and work in harmony with a diverse group of highly motivated and capable individuals
