This role is part of Alcon's Research & Development function, a team that innovates boldly and delivers new products and services to help revolutionize the eye care industry, advance optimal patient outcomes and help people see brilliantly. The Principal Engineer III, Research & Development Process & Product Design (Science/Tech/Engineering Path), is primarily responsible for leading the design transfer of implantable products from Research and Development to manufacturing, ensuring milestones are met, and maintaining compliance of launched products. You will tackle complex technical issues, contribute to new product concepts, and engage with senior management.
Specifics Include:
• Lead advanced research and development efforts, exploring new manufacturing processes, conducting performance simulations, and refining complex product designs
• Utilize expertise in computational modeling and experimental validation to drive product enhancements and regulatory alignment
• Contribute to scientific publications, patent filings, and the continuous evolution of research methodologies to advance the field
• Influence key decision-making processes in Research and Development, ensuring design improvements are based on robust scientific principles and empirical data All associates must adhere to GxP regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate and complete documentation, ensuring rigorous quality control, and completing all required training. Associates are responsible for meeting their individual job requirements and contributing to the overall compliance of the organization.
