Principal Global Supply Planner

Job Summary:
The Principal Supply Planner is responsible for pre-season creation and in-season execution and optimization of finished goods flow plan to enable demand fulfillment and stable production flow. Constraint management is a key focus, including lead times, capacity, minimums, transportation, and factory allocations. Works with cross-functional partners to manage, monitor, and balance purchase orders and physical inventory that results in minimal inventory risks and costs while providing exceptional customer satisfaction. Collaborates with regional demand to balance inventory levels and product availability to ensure targeted inventory and service levels. Leads process evolution and is responsible for innovating and improving business process, execution strategies, and supply chain analytics. Shows leadership and advocacy in the team and across the supply chain.

Responsibilities:

  • Creates, revises, and communicates global supply plans to ensure strategic objectives are met both for long-range and short-range supply plans.
  • Effectively creates and manages pre-season planning and in-season execution and optimization of a wholesale finished goods seasonal buy flow plan for a specific set of factories.
  • Uses analytical and reporting skills to identify opportunities to increase efficiency, improve communication and processes, and support transparency.
  • Drives high levels of planning accuracy enabling inventory reduction, improved resource utilization, product cost savings, and delivery precision.
  • Manages, performs, or coordinates all tasks related to production to ensure on-time, in-full delivery to customers.
  • Monitors factory performance and develops knowledge of factory issues, strengths, goals, and how these affect business objectives. Monitors and validates factory load plans, analyzes and negotiates factory capacity targets, tracks key models and communicates issues and possible solutions.
  • Executes and manages global POs from creation to ex-factory, including supporting the direct ship alignment process, extractions between regions to satisfy customer demand, execution of sourcing-factory reallocation, and cost changes. Partners with IT to drive more efficiency and automation of current buy processes while looking for areas of new functionality or enhancements. 
  • Effectively prepares and presents on relevant topics to various groups, including peers, cross-functional partners and management. Elevates the position and department through the development of strategic relations and organizational awareness.
  • Decides regional style/color buy quantity to support demand forecast while maximizing inventory turns. Minimizes risks and average inventory levels. Manages materials and production minimums. Communicates constraint impacts on demand fulfilments.
  • Utilizes supply-planning processes, systems, and tools, incorporating professional supply-planning techniques.
  • Partners with material planning team to resolve RM minimum issues and opportunities to reduce negative impacts on finished good factories and company costs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree, applicable certification or equivalent experience.
• Typically requires 8+ years of professional experience and strong competency with the various tools, systems, or procedures required to accomplish the job.
• Solid knowledge of principles, concepts, and theories within supply chain and ability to assist with training and development of other team members on this knowledge
• Project and process management skills
• Proactive and assertive in follow-through with colleagues and business partners. Ability to initiate these communications is necessary.
