Job Description
Leidos currently has an opening for a System Administrator (SA) to support multiple contracts and missions.
We are seeking a skilled System Administrator to join our team and take responsibility for the remote administration of clusters and patching vulnerabilities on multiple systems.
As our System Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the integrity, performance, and security of IT infrastructure. Your primary duties will include the remote administration of clusters and ensuring all systems are regularly patched and updated to mitigate vulnerabilities. The ideal candidate is a proactive individual who can work independently in a remote environment while effectively collaborating with the team. This role will also assist in policy development and other aspects of information assurance as directed. In addition, the prospective candidate will be part of a remediation team to assist with incident response activities.
Primary Responsibilities
Remotely manage and administer IT clusters, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and implement corrective measures.
Regularly patch and update systems to address vulnerabilities, and security risks.
Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.) and system admin tools.
Solid understanding of network protocols, firewalls, and security best practices.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Assists with the scheduling, planning, and oversight of system upgrades.
Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices across all systems.
Collaborate with other IT teams to troubleshot and resolve system issues.
Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, changes and procedures.
Interfaces with functional users in both routine and reactive monitoring situations.
Supports the Information Technology Project Manager as directed.
Ability to gain cooperation of others.
Familiar with NIST 800-171 controls and their requirements.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related technical discipline and 3+ years of related experience (Experience and Certifications will be considered in lieu of degree).
Must have or be eligible for a Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Microsoft certified or Knowledge of Microsoft applications
Security+
Network+
Linux+
Azure or AWS Fundamental knowledge
