Department Overview

The Motorola Solutions Command Central Video Services team is responsible for the architecture, design, and development of cloud-based Video Management Solutions servicing Public Safety and Enterprise Customers. Motorola Solutions designs, develops, and manufactures advanced AI, video analytics, network video management software and hardware, surveillance cameras, and access control solutions that help change the way people interact with their security systems. We are seeking an entry-level Software Engineer who will be a part of a highly collaborative team working on mobile and fixed video solutions. Our products allow customers to respond effectively in mission-critical operating environments. We are looking for world-class innovative and motivated engineers interested in building software and systems that truly make a difference.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Implement architectural approaches for features within a cloud-based Video Management Solution for live media, and recorded media playback

• Able to participate in group discussions by expressing thoughts and ideas clearly.

• Remote collaboration with global teams

• Self-driven, high-energy, highly innovative person with a positive attitude

Requirements/Skills:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with an emphasis on Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• Experience with AI/machine learning technologies is strongly preferred.

• Familiarity and Fluency in Java, with a passion for writing high-performance, efficient code. Exposure to Rust is a plus.

• A robust troubleshooting methodology and the ability to work under fast-paced timelines.

• Able to troubleshoot and debug issues; work with remote teams as required.

• Support and triage issues with customer integration teams under minimum supervision.

• Knowledge in the following domains: open-source multimedia frameworks, real-time audio, and video streaming, playback of recorded media

• Experience with Azure or other cloud platforms

• Knowledge in AI Frameworks

• Experience with Azure or other cloud platforms

• Knowledge of CI/CD Pipelines

• Knowledge of Docker Containers

• Proficiency in spoken and written English

Target Base Salary Range: $63,800 USD - $127,600 USD

Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.

Note: Candidate must be in the Chicago office 3 days per week.
