The Evidence and Devices Engineering team is responsible for Motorola Solutions’ body cameras, vehicle cameras and evidence management software leveraged in public safety and enterprise applications worldwide.


Job Description

We are a thriving and growing company in search of a highly skilled Quality Engineer to join our evidence management team at our Edinburgh, Scotland site. This is a full-time role where you will play a crucial part in the testing, validation and automation of our software engineering projects as well as the continuous build and delivery pipeline. We are seeking a talented and proactive individual who can contribute to our team’s success and foster a positive culture within the company.

You will be responsible for:

  • Developing and executing test plans to validate the functionality of our software suite.

  • Supporting, designing, developing and enhancing test processes across multiple teams. 

  • Creating automated test suites to reduce manual effort in our test processes.

  • Managing test effort across our varied product suite under tight deadlines.

  • Maintaining and growing our CI/CD pipeline.


Basic Requirements

Please note this role is hybrid, based out of the Edinburgh office, but we are open for discussion.

What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent experience.

  • At least 3+ yrs quality assurance experience in Agile Development environments.

  • Minimum 2+ yrs experience with automated testing tools or equivalent automation skills.

  • Strong experience of CI/CD pipelines.

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks and quickly adjust in a rapidly changing environment.

  • Thorough working knowledge of software testing methodologies and the testing life cycle.

Bonus points for:

  • Experience writing automated tests using Cypress or Playwright.

  • Understanding of cloud service architectures such as AWS or GCP.

  • Previous experience working with Jenkins build servers.

  • Experience automating manual build and delivery pipelines.

  • Prior experience automating integration testing in backend applications.
