eBay, Inc. seeks MTS 1, Software Engineer in San Jose, CA

Job Duties: Develop and deploy payment integration and cart flows for eBay's Android app. Work on large-scale, significant, and interesting software development problems within small, focused, reciprocal project teams following an agile methodology. Develop and deploy eBay Native applications that facilitate eBay's commerce transactions, using Java and Katlin. Implement software solutions using Test-Driven Development (TDD), Behavior- Driven Development (BDD), and clean code. Develop unit, integration, UI (user interface), and acceptance testing for software. Improve underlying core architecture with the latest Katlin and Java Standards. Enhance software design patterns across the code flows and set best practices within the team. Enhance software testability and reusability by refactoring existing computer code. Collaborate with service, design, and product team to build new experiences. Utilize expert depth and breadth of experience in Android, Java, Katlin, and their related ides (eclipse, android studio) as well as familiarity with the integration of network service. Utilize experience developing and integrating with web services, TCP/IP, and databases. Design, develop, and test high throughput back-end software systems. Develop object-oriented software and design, code, and test complex software features. Develop software code and lead code review sessions. Segment and design technical system layers to support componentized and layered software application development, including business logic functionality and database/component repository access. Identify and fix performance, scalability, and other software live issues in a very time critical environment. Identify and make recommendations to reduce software project risks. Utilize solid working knowledge of mobile application design considerations. Utilize experience with Jetpack Compose, Java ides (e.g., Android studio), profilers, debuggers, revision control systems (e.g., Git) and bug tracking (e.g., Jira). Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering (any), or a closely related field.

Base salary: $172,931-234,850 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
