About the Role

This position is within HARMAN’s Lifestyle Automotive Engineering department. The primary responsibility is to create system design and architecture for Car Audio Systems.

The System Architecture team is looking for the ultimate team player with positive and constructive thinking. The Successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of accomplishment of success with audio systems architecture and customer facing interaction.

What You Will Do

  • Contribute to the overall system software architecture for embedded systems and SOC based designs
  • Create System SW Design and Architecture on mid to high complex Systems, Platforms and modules for Car Audio Systems from basic idea up to product launch
  • Lead and steer the software architecture team (MCU, DSP, AVB, Others) to ensure feasibility, performance and cost optimized product design
  • Participate in the selection of next generation key components for the digital processing core
  • Develop the designs in cooperation with the system architect, cybersecurity architect and FuSa architect
  • Prepare system definition based on analysis of customer requirements in RFQ phase
  • Perform technical presentations directly with OEM’s
  • Software System definition based on analysis of internal and customer requirements
  • Generating detailed Software System block diagram under consideration of Harman guidelines
  • Perform design reviews for each development stage ensuring compliance to the software system design requirements
  • Maintain appropriate knowledge of current and future technologies, methods and tools, related to system engineering and software system architecture
  • Engage with OEM’s and customer teams guiding them on Harman audio system solutions matching the OEM vehicle architecture

What You Need to Be Successful

  • Master or Bachelor’s degree with appropriate software/hardware and embedded system working knowledge
  • 10+ Year’s experience in OEM automotive product design (audio systems preferred)
  • Vehicle communication bus experience CAN, Ethernet, A2B
  • Onboard communication busses such as, I2C, (O, Q)SPI, TDM, UART
  • Hardware & Software development, debugging, and validation experience
  • In-Depth understanding of the automotive product design and development process
  • Solid background in using development tools for requirements management and system design
  • Ability to communicate architecture concepts and ideas persuasively and concisely to all levels of business
  • Good written and verbal communication in English
  • Flexible in terms of tasks and responsibility
  • Ability to build relations and work independently
  • Self-motivated, passionate about audio and high sense of responsibility

Bonus Points if You Have

  • DSP SW knowledge
  • Experience with Enterprise Architect - EA
  • Experience with DOORS Next gen - DNG
  • Ideal candidates have experience working as an audio, infotainment, or other automotive module engineer with automotive OEM customers
  • Experience with Audio Frameworks, AutoSAR and RTOS
  • Basic understanding of CyberSecurity and Functional Safety
  • Knowledge of Automotive SPICE process
  • Embedded system software development in C/C++ and model-based familiarity
  • Experience working with automotive OEM in an embedded system development
  • TS16949 and other quality tools (PPAP,APQP,MSA,SPC,DFMEA) familiarity
  • Creation of issue countermeasure quality document
