Summary:  Responsible for setting up, operating and supplying parts to the shot blast machine, ensuring dust collector is operational and running the beveling torch.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Follow startup, operation and shut down procedures for the shot blast machine, dust collector and Oxy/acetylene torch.
  •  Must obtain a forklift license for movement of material in and out of the area.
  • Lifting is required for loading material at the machine. (minimum lifting ability).  Must be able to operate an overhead hoist and maneuver the jib crane on the load and unload side of the machine.
  • Must obtain the ability to operate an Oxy/acetylene torch as part of a beveling operation for certain parts prior to shot blasting.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Every employee is expected:

*Complete all required paperwork including labor reporting and documentation of quality control and material movement.

*Work safely and maintain the work area with high standards of housekeeping.

*Perform self-inspection and other required quality control functions at the employee’s workstation.

*Perform required Preventive Maintenance activities on machinery and/or equipment operated.

*Train and/or assist in the development of personnel.

*Perform other duties as assigned by Supervision.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Basic blueprint reading ability
  • Lifting requirements: Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.  Lifting devices are available and recommended.

Preferred qualifications:

  • HS diploma or GED
