Overview of Role

The Traveler Consultant role at Egencia is to deliver exceptional travel service experience for our Corporate Business Customers. Our Travel Consultants work together as a high-performing team to deliver exceptional traveler care, first call resolution and the highest quality of customer service to GBT corporate clients. It is a high touch service environment, where you will have true accountability for the service relationship and customer experience, by providing creative and timely travel solutions, using available tools and technology as needed, while maximizing supplier revenue.

You will join our team at the Amsterdam office during the full-time training. After completing the training, you may have the option to work from home full-time or on a hybrid contract (ex. 3 days in the office and 2 days from home), subject to validation by your Team Leader.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist our clients on their Online or Offline bookings (for modification, cancellation or complex bookings) via phone chat or emails.
  • Act as the point of sale on all Domestic & International travel requirements, arranging both routine and complex travel for air, rail, car, and Hotel accommodation.
  • Provide advice, solutions and recommendations and proactively offer additional services to our travelers (for example: hotels and cars), while ensuring compliance with our customers' travel policy and requirements.
  • Apply recommendations for managing calls/emails/chat to ensure complete customer satisfaction and maintain excellent relationships.
  • Comply with all legal standard requirements, including mandatory training, compliance and sanctions.
  • Meet expectations for individual/shared team goals and achieve all company KPIs.
  • Operate in a multi-channel service environment where you are responsible for key performance indicators of success, such as customer satisfaction (CSAT), key productivity metrics (e.g. call/email handling time and productivity).
  • Follow the established organizational procedures while respecting your schedule for various scheduled tasks.
  • Coach, develop and mentor more junior colleagues in the team, as needed.
  • Express enthusiasm and energy within the organization while always acting according to company ethics, values ​​and compliance guidelines.

Additional Accountabilities

  • Have a passion for customer service excellence.
  • Excellent professional communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Fluent level of Dutch and English.
  • Experience working in a high touch service environment where performance is measured.
  • Experience working in a team.
  • Detail-oriented - ability to act with integrity and deal sensitively with personal and confidential traveler information.
  • Ability to research and resolve customer service and traveler issues independently.
  • Problem Solving skill, with a process improvement mindset.
  • Able to work under pressure, with a sense of urgency while maintaining a professional rapport and multi-task, accepting and adapting to change quickly and professionally.
  • Ability to positively influence team members and peers.
  • Learning agility and ability to act on constructive feedback.

Key Qualifications and Attributes

  • Have a detailed understanding of fares and ticketing rules, for car, air, hotel travel.
  • Have knowledge and experience in air, rail, hotel and car booking.
  • Be able to calculate and process exchanges.
  • Have a high proficiency in GDS Amadeus.
  • Have a background in Business Travel, leisure or airline reservation.
  • Possess a strong understanding of travel trends and industry best practices.
