What You’ll Do

The Nursing & Performance Improvement Project Manager supports Freeman Health System’s clinical operations and nursing transformation initiatives by serving as an embedded project management, integration, and execution resource across multiple performance improvement efforts. This role is designed to operate as part of enterprise implementation teams, integrating nursing leadership, clinical operations, quality, and performance improvement activities with broader transformation and integration initiatives. The position works alongside external consultants and internal stakeholders while remaining accountable to Freeman leadership for execution readiness, adoption, and sustained performance improvement.

Responsibilities:

Serve as an embedded Nursing and Performance Improvement project manager across multiple clinical operations and nursing initiatives.
Support implementation teams for enterprise initiatives, acquisitions, and large-scale operational changes impacting nursing and clinical workflows.
Translate clinical and operational recommendations into executable implementation plans, timelines, and milestones.
Validate assumptions and recommendations using Freeman clinical data, operational realities, and frontline input.
Ensure initiatives align with nursing practice standards, patient safety, quality goals, and enterprise strategy.
Support future-state nursing workflows, staffing models, care delivery processes, and performance improvement interventions.
Partner with Nursing leadership, Clinical Operations, Quality, IT, and Performance Improvement teams to support implementation readiness.
Identify implementation risks, staffing impacts, workflow dependencies, and change management considerations; support mitigation planning.
Support go-live planning, operational transitions, and early stabilization following implementations.
Track baseline performance, improvement targets, and initiative-level KPIs related to nursing, throughput, quality, safety, and productivity.
Maintain dashboards, workplans, and executive reporting for clinical transformation initiatives.
Act as a coordination point between Nursing, Performance Improvement, consultants, and operational teams.
Prepare executive and governance updates, decision-support materials, and implementation status reporting.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field; clinical background strongly preferred.
7+ years of experience in nursing operations, clinical performance improvement, healthcare transformation, or project management.
Experience supporting enterprise clinical implementations, performance improvement initiatives, or integration efforts.
Strong understanding of hospital nursing operations, staffing models, quality metrics, and patient safety.
Proven ability to operate effectively in matrixed, multidisciplinary healthcare environments.

What You’ll Do

The Epic BI Lead facilitates team members through system planning, system implementation, process development, development of new functionality, testing cycles, post activation support, implementing scheduled vendor releases and system upgrades, and fixing system defects.  Serves as the resource for other application team members on technical and functional application analysis, defining system requirement and developing logical data models using best practices for build and configuration, maintenance, workflow and data integrity.  Works with cross functional teams and FHS clients by providing education on system functionality and configuration of new tools to increase end user productivity within the application.  Ensure system changes follow change management procedures and protocols, create and maintain all documentation for all assigned applications and develop, plan and execute testing for supported applications.  Communicate all necessary application changes, enhancements and procedures to all necessary departments.

Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or Healthcare Administration, or equivalent work experience is required PMP Certification

  • 5-7 years directly related professional experience
