JOB DESCRIPTION:

Primary Objectives

Implementation of policies, procedures, practices and strategy for achieving comprehensive Product Technical Training programs for both internal employees and external customers in the domain of TAVI  

The role will focus primarily on TAVI clinical field training and mentoring.

This position will additionally be responsible for implementing and monitoring education programs for different HCP stakeholders as well as training new hired employees until they have completed all required training within the EMEA region when needed.

In addition, the position will be responsible for supporting the full SH portfolio training programs and to coordinate and implement all training and developed strategies including supplemental training and other programs.

Future Program Development: 

Will be required to assist training for current and future generations of the Abbott Structural Heart product portfolio in the domain of TAVI.

The position will assume the additional responsibilities of new therapy areas/new target audiences, patient pathways and identified needs of HCPs and internal stakeholders. 

Multi-stakeholder collaboration will be required as well as collaboration with KOL stakeholders. Procedural and clinical expertise for both internal and external audiences in the domain of TAVI is required.

The Training Manager will ensure compliance to the Global Training Plans and use of materials, and consistent dissemination of the subject matter to both internal and external stakeholders.

Quality:

The Training Manager will do regular checks of all compliance related activities related to training. He/she will proactively assess the work of technical support and sales teams on periodic basis to ensure compliance in line with standard operating procedures and report on monthly base. 

Tracking:

The Training Manager  will assume full responsibility for systematic tracking of training program performance including but not limited to time to account start up, number of accounts starting/not-starting, time to certification of internal employees and HCP.

In addition, he/she will follow up on daily reported implant outcomes and act upon where needed.

Top responsibilities

  • Achieve EMEA TAVI Structural Heart training objectives and goals
  • Execute on existing tactics for integrating field-based sales and clinical support staff and execute strategies consistent with achieving Sales plan.
  • Facilitate new account start up training and re-training where needed.
  • Implement internal staff training development programs with clear objectives and tracking.
  • Track successful and unsuccessful conversion from training to start up.
  • Provide comprehensive reports on all training and other pertinent department activity to assist executive management in strategic planning.
  • Actively work to promote team building and morale within the team and department.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to align strategic messaging.
  • Assists / Coordinate Physician training programs and Field training programs related to product technical training.
  • Plan, schedule, and complete projects in an aggressive manner consistent with corporate objectives.
  • Proactively support company goals, objectives, policies and procedures, and EU regulations.
  • Maintain a professional and credible image with key physicians, consultants, and co-workers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Ensure compliance in performing the training as required by the training procedure.
  • Ensure compliance in reporting product experiences according to Abbott requirement.
  • Conduct systematic monthly tracking of performance of programs.
  • Track successful and unsuccessful conversion from training to start up.
  • Provide comprehensive reports on all training and other pertinent department activity.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Highly developed education and communication skills.
  • Thorough working knowledge of the medical device industry is required.

Experience

Minimum of three years related experience in the medical device industry preferably consisting of three or more years of direct sales experience or technical training coordinating role in medical devices, preferably in the field of TAVI

Specific Requirements

Incumbent will be required to comply with all applicable laws and Abbott internal procedures when being present in a Cath Lab. Such rule includes wearing certain health and safety protection devices, e.g., lead apron/jacket,..
