A Day in the Life

At Medtronic, we believe in transforming Cardiac Surgery through innovation, trust, and outcomes that matter. As Director of U.S. Strategic Sales Enablement, you will lead the national sales strategy and field execution for two of our highest-priority surgical products: **Avalus™ Ultra** aortic surgical valve and **Penditure™** atrial clip for left atrial appendage management.

This is a **field-facing leadership role** for a seasoned sales strategist and clinical subject matter expert in cardiac surgery. You'll partner closely with marketing, education, and field leadership to drive adoption, deepen account penetration, and enable sustained commercial success across strategic accounts and centers of excellence.

A Day in the Life

In this high-impact, U.S.-based role, you will:

* Lead strategic sales enablement efforts for the U.S. commercial team focused on Avalus™ Ultra and Pendature™

* Set national strategy and partner with U.S. Sales Leadership to drive penetration and performance in strategic accounts

* Champion new product selling and execute launch strategies that create urgency, value, and momentum in priority markets

* Serve as the clinical and market subject matter expert across cardiac surgery, surgical valve selection, and atrial appendage management

* Design and deliver sales development programs, focused on both rep and manager growth in clinical knowledge, value-based selling, and strategic account development

* Partner with Marketing, Clinical Education, and Training to deploy high-impact messaging, surgeon engagement, and procedural execution plans

* Act as a trusted leader and coach, helping field teams build deeper relationships, convert new users, and become solution-oriented commercial partners

* Provide live support and guidance for clinical education, KOL engagement, and critical account conversions

* Identify, track, and close performance gaps by blending macro-level strategic insights with hands-on field execution

* Influence and collaborate with internal stakeholders, including the Vice President of Sales, Product Management, and Market Development teams

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

* Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of experience in medical devices, including at least 5 years in sales enablement, marketing, or field strategy leadership

* Deep understanding of cardiac surgery, particularly surgical aortic valve replacement and atrial appendage management

* Demonstrated experience developing and executing U.S. sales strategies, driving field performance, and supporting complex product launches

* Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, shape sales narratives, and engage key surgical decision-makers

* Willing and able to travel up to 70% across the U.S.

Nice to Have

* Master’s degree in business, healthcare, or related field

* Experience launching first-in-class or cost-disruptive cardiac surgical products

* Strong emotional intelligence and ability to influence across all levels of the organization

* History of successfully executing portfolio-based, customer-centric selling models

* Familiarity with clinical training, market development, and Centers of Excellence programs

* Expertise in bridging sales, marketing, and education teams in high-acuity clinical environments

Required Knowledge and Experience: Requires practical sales, business development and management knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects and tactics for one or more products.
Typically has advanced knowledge and skills within the sales discipline, with understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the organization.
Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)( 4)(iii)(A) and minimum of 5 years of relevant sales experience or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant sales and leadership experience.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):115000

This position is eligible for an annual long-term incentive plan.

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
