Job Description:

Maryland Environmental Service has an opening for an Equipment Operator Trainee, Equipment Operator, Senior Equipment Operator, or Lead Equipment Operator at the Cox Creek Dredged Material Containment Facility and the Cox Creek Sediment Technology and Reuse Facility. The projects are located in northern Anne Arundel County and Baltimore City, Maryland. This position provides equipment operation services for MES clients at field locations.

Primary responsibilities include operating off-road dump trucks, dozers, excavators, other heavy equipment, and dewatering pumps. Training will be provided as needed. This position may occasionally require evening and weekend work and temporary assignments to other MES-operated facilities. 

Estimated Pay Range:

Trainee: $41,515.16 to $57,083.16 

EO: $45,666.23 to $62,791.65 

Senior EO: $50,233.92 to $69,070.88 

Lead EO: $55,256.40 to $75,978.12 

Position classification and salary offered will be based upon applicable experience and skills test.

Minimum Requirements:

All classifications require graduation from a standard high school or GED, ability to pass a standard physical examination, ability to lift 50 pounds, and possession of a valid driver’s license with less than points. 

EOT requires no additional experience. EO classification is required to have one (1) year applicable experience, SEO is required to have three (3) years applicable experience, and the LEO is required to have five (5) years applicable experience. 

 

The Equipment Operator Trainee and Equipment Operator position are eligible for on-spot, contingent offers. Candidates who apply after an on-spot offer has been extended (including internal candidates) will not be considered unless the candidate who receives the on-spot, contingent offer does not complete the process to become an MES employee.

Any offer of employment will be contingent upon successfully completing required pre-employment screens, to include full background check, drug & alcohol screening, and position appropriate physical.
