Position Highlights:

  • Position: Magnet Site Coordinator
  • Location: Evanston, IL
  • Full Time: 40 hours per week, day shift
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am -4:30pm, with flexibility to be available on "off" shifts as needed
  • Required Travel: NA

What you will need:

  • License: Current professional Nursing Licensure in the State of IL required
  • Education: Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited school of nursing required; BSN required, Masters preferred
  • Certification: Board Certification in nursing specialty. If not currently certified, certification in nursing specialty within 18 months of eligibility.
  • Experience: Demonstrated clinical nursing expertise with a minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience in a clinical practice setting.

What you will do:

  • Assumes oversight for ensuring standards required for the Magnet Recognition Program are met and sustained for assigned hospital and supporting the organization in implementation of initiatives related to obtaining and maintaining Magnet™ designation.
  • Provides an ongoing Magnet readiness gap analysis, submission process and documentation requirements for the application, re-designation evidence submission, annual and interim reports and the Demographic Data Collection Tool (DDCT) to meet all established deadlines set forth by the American Nurses’ Credentialing Center (ANCC) Magnet Recognition Program.
  • Provide leadership, knowledge, education and resources to the Magnet Champions at assigned hospital; shares knowledge gained from attending local, regional, and national Magnet-related conferences and meetings.
  • Works collaboratively and participates in the data collection and entry, tracking and reporting of quality/safety nurse sensitive indicators with the Assistant Vice Presidents/Clinical Directors of Nursing to ensure coordination and submission of nursing data submission requirements, such as NDNQI.
  • Supports a culture and the infrastructure within the organization that enables shared decision making, evidence-based practice, nursing research and the professional development of nurses.
  • Collaborates with nursing leaders, nursing staff and interprofessional colleagues to develop and sustain an environment that includes organizational professional nursing activities and structures that promote an optimal work environment for professional nurses and care team members, resulting in excellent patient care outcomes.
  • Collaborates with nursing departments at other healthcare organizations and serves as a nursing representative for inter-facility projects.
