Description
As a Digital and Automation manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will lead complex, cross-functional projects that advance our mission of making the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.
In this role, you will manage strategic initiatives from concept to completion, ensuring successful delivery within scope, schedule, budget, and quality parameters. You will collaborate with teams across the organization to drive project execution while building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
This position requires someone who can navigate ambiguity, guide teams effectively, and succeed in a matrix environment. Your project management expertise and leadership will be critical in delivering impactful results that support business growth and operational excellence.
Responsibilities And Authorities
Lead site digitalization and automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency, productivity, compliance, and data visibility for Clinical Trial logistics operations.
Manage and develop a small team responsible for delivering automation scripts, dashboards, workflow applications, reporting tools, and digital solutions.
Work closely with Logistics, Warehouse Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Customer Service, Engineering, IT, and other site functions to understand business processes and identify improvement opportunities.
Review current workflows, identify gaps and inefficiencies, and recommend practical digital or automation solutions that create measurable business impact.
Develop automation solutions using programming, RPA, Microsoft Power Platform, Excel automation, and other approved digital platforms.
Establish and maintain dashboards to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), operational performance, productivity, quality, service levels, and improvement progress. Support data collection, cleansing, analysis, transformation, and visualization to enable accurate and timely business decision-making.
Translate business requirements into practical, scalable, user-friendly, and sustainable digital solutions.
Monitor the effectiveness of implemented digital solutions and drive continuous improvement based on user feedback, business impact, compliance requirements, and operational needs.
Prepare and present project updates, automation impact, savings, risks, issues, and improvement opportunities to site leadership.
Support digital adoption across the site by identifying automation opportunities, promoting data-driven decision-making, and partnering with teams on practical digital solutions.
Evaluate and recommend relevant digital tools, technologies, and best practices to support continuous improvement of site automation and digitalization capabilities.
Support site-wide activities and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Automation, Logistics, Supply Chain, Science, or a related discipline.
