HL Learn provides professional development programming for the firm’s attorneys and business services personnel. Based in the Washington office, the Learning and Development Senior Manager will play a key role in designing and implementing professional and business skills programs for lawyers across the Americas region. This is a hybrid role that requires a minimum of three days working in the office.

  • Program design: Assist with creating diverse learning experiences across different modalities, including blended learning solutions, live programs, remote learning programs, eLearning programs  
  • Project management: Create and oversee project plans for training programs, detailing timelines, milestones, required resources, and deliverables. This includes end-to-end management of extended cohort programs and leading on-site management of programs.
  • Logistics coordination: Manage all logistical elements of training programs, including scheduling, venue selection, technology setup, and materials production.
  • Facilitation: Help co-facilitate in-person and virtual training sessions.
  • Needs assessment: Conduct training need analyses, and oversee evaluations for individual programs/initiatives..
  • Program communications: Produce engaging and clear communications to effectively promote programs and initiatives.
  • Subject matter expert engagement: Research and offer suggestions for new vendors and internal subject matter experts to continually improve department offerings
  • Trends and developments: Stay informed on the latest trends in learning and development. Integrate innovative training approaches and identify suitable vendors that match the firm’s standards for training quality and relevance.
  • Marketing materials: Work with stakeholders to manage production of all department marketing materials including department newsletter, regional offerings brochure, skills frameworks, and presentations delivered to leaders and functions.
  • Relationship building: Build deep relationship that facilitate cross-functional collaboration across functions and practices.
  • All other duties as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10 (Ten)+ years of relevant professional development experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Master’s degree or certificate in related field preferred (e.g., organizational psychology, leadership development)
  • Experience with project management required
  • Experience working independently as well as within cross-functional teams in a collaborative, professional environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and also take initiative
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Enthusiasm and desire to pursue a career in learning and development
  • Ability to preserve confidentiality and exercise discretion
  • Ability to travel to other offices

HOURS

  • Core hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., including one hour for lunch, with flexibility required as needed for program support.

In Washington, DC, the annualized salary range for this position is $105,000 to $177,800 depending on the candidate's overall experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.  Full time employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.  In addition, full time employees as well as some part time employees, will be eligible for the firm’s fringe benefits as they currently exist.
