Child Life Specialist - Pediatric Neurology/Orthopedic ICU and Pediatric Progressive Care Unit- Full Time

Support the psychosocial needs of children and families as a Child-Life Specialist. Join a high-functioning team of professionals specially trained in patient stresses, responses and emotional needs, and bring new meaning to multidisciplinary excellence.

Our accredited Child Life Specialists join forces with nurses, music and art therapists, social workers and clinical professionals to normalize the health care environment for young patients. We provide age-appropriate activities and diversions at the bedside as well as within our state-of-the-art Child Life Centers.

The hours are Monday and Wednesday 8:30am - 4:30 pm, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 10:00 am- 6:00 pm.

 

Preferred Criteria

• Master’s Degree in Child Life, Child Development
• One to two years experience with hospitalized children

 

Required Criteria 

• Bachelor's Degree in Child Life, Child Development or closely related field
• Child Life Council verified internship hours (minimum 480 hours)
• Certified Child Life Specialist by the Child Life Council
