The Operations Accounting Associate will support Project Services with a primary focus on Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) processes and operational accounting needs. Working under the guidance of the Supervisor, this role requires attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will help drive workflow efficiency, support operations with timely AFE-related requests, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts across the AFE lifecycle.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Including, but not limited to

• Create, review, and maintain AFEs, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with operational requirements
• Monitor AFE workflow activity and identify bottlenecks, trends, and opportunities for process improvement
• Respond to AFE-related inquiries from Operations and provide guidance on workflow status, documentation needs, and system requirements
• Support automation and process enhancement initiatives within the AFE and project accounting functions
• Assist with data validation, reconciliation, and integration activities related to project services and operational accounting
• Collaborate with Operations to gather supporting information and ensure timely processing of AFE requests
• Participate in system updates, testing, and documentation efforts tied to AFE workflow improvements
• Contribute to strengthening internal controls and enhancing efficiency within project accounting processes

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college-level coursework preferred
• At least three (3+) years of equivalent office related experience
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines
• Effective communication and customer service skills
• At least one (1) year of experience using Microsoft Office, with a strong focus on Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with SAP
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Flexibility to manage shifting priorities and workload demands
• Ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts with guidance
• Proven ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
