Job Description

About the Role:

As a Senior Engineer on the Investment Technology team, you will play important role in building and supporting internal technology platforms and enterprise services. You’ll participate in cross-functional initiatives, work closely with other engineering team members, and ensure delivery of scalable, secure, and developer-friendly solutions that align with Invesco’s enterprise vision. This role requires strong technical depth, strategic vision, and a dedication to fostering engineering excellence and scalable AIenabled software development. 

You will demonstrate a willingness to explore and contribute to new and exciting initiatives, while maintaining accountability for foundational engineering work that ensures platform stability, scalability, and long-term success.

Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Implement the architectural and business functional vision for internal applications, platforms, and enterprise services 

  • Design and implement processes, applications, and services for the Investment Technology domain based on business requirements 

  • Collaborate with enterprise architecture, product, infrastructure, and security teams to align platform capabilities with enterprise goals 

  • Build AWS cloud-based solutions using best practices and appropriate cloud services 

  • Apply DevSecOps practices and mature CI/CD pipelines using tools like Git, Bitbucket Pipelines, Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, SonarQube, and Artifactory 

  • Implement system integrations using established integration patterns, APIs, and data integration tools 

  • Leverage industry-leading AI capabilities to streamline development and promote an AI-first approach across the team 

  • Work within Agile teams using Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket), support automation and self-service engineering, mentor engineers, and foster a collaborative, high-performing global culture 

Requirements of the Role:

  • 8+ years of professional fullstack software development experience with expert understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) 

  • Deep expertise in objectoriented programming using Java 

  • Proven handson experience building cloudbased solutions on AWS, including services like EKS, S3, Airflow, IAM, and Lambda 

  • Experience with cloud database platforms such as Snowflake, Postgres, Athena, and SQL Server 

  • Experience with industrystandard AI frameworks/tools (NLP models, vectorization/embedding, LangChain, Amazon Bedrock, OpenAI APIs) to build scalable intelligent applications (plus) 

  • Advanced UI development using JavaScript frameworks like React or Angular 

  • Strong proficiency in Agile development and CI/CD pipelines, with exposure to testing/automation tools (JUnit, Selenium, JMeter) and orchestration/scheduling services (UAC, Airflow, Autosys); experience with PowerShell, Python, and Kubectl is a plus 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
