About Trimble Advanced Positioning

Trimble Advanced Positioning is offering a full-time position opportunity for a professional experience in computer science, information technology (IT), geomatics, or geodetic to join our global positioning team.  The selected candidate will be working with a team that monitors and manages the operational networks that deliver Trimble’s unprecedented global real-time service CenterPoint RTX™, along with the well-established portfolio of regional Trimble® VRS Now™ real-time services.  These are subscription-based GNSS correction streaming services that are delivered from our server systems via internet or satellite broadcast and which enable our customers to do precise GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems) positioning.

What You Will Do


The selected candidate will remotely monitor and operate ground infrastructure of the Continuously Operating Reference Station (CORS) networks globally with high focus on Canada. Main goal of work is to keep CORS infrastructure running with high performance and address the issues with respective time manners. Joining the team of system operators located in North America, the candidate will be working as part of a 24x7x365 follow the sun network operations team in these three regional time zones. We do provide a flexible working environment thus remote work is possible.


Some activities may require domestic and international travel (30 - 40%) for: Continuously Operating Reference Station (CORS) troubleshooting and deployment, training purposes and team meetings needs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Monitoring of the global CORS infrastructure with remote or onsite troubleshooting
  • Coordination of the CORS maintenance with 3rd party companies
  • Search for new CORS locations, negotiate site contracts, coordinate on-site  installations
  • Give technical advice and answer general service questions
  • Travel to selected CORS sites for preventive and corrective maintenance

What Skills & Experience You Should Bring

  • 1+ years’ experience working in a technical environment
  • Basic practical knowledge of IT networking and computer network solutions
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English and French within technical context
  • Outgoing personality, easiness to reach out to people
  • A desire to learn and interact with a team with an open mind

What Skills & Experience You Could Bring

  • Additional languages: French required, other like German, Spanish or Italian a plus
  • A bachelor’s or associate's degree in computer science, information technology, geomatics, geodetic surveying, or related field
  • Ability to install GNSS antennas and cabling on roofs
  • Experience in field surveying with GPS and data analysis
  • Hands-on experience with Trimble or other brand GNSS hardware and software
