Job Description Summary:

This role is responsible for planning and executing a variety of student wellness events and the Student Gala throughout the year. It will also oversee the accuracy of the academic calendars for first and second-year students, as well as maintain proctoring schedules. Additionally, this position will provide administrative support for the department.

Job Description:

Job Duties Outlined: 

  • Fiscal responsibilities include completing check request forms, prepare bank deposits, order office supplies, and review student reimbursements. 

  • Create and maintain the academic calendars for year one and year two students.  

  • Communicate with students, faculty, and KUMC administration to maintain complete accuracy in course management systems.  

  • Make decisions regarding faculty and student absence backup plans.  

  • Find solutions to missing faculty assignments or academic schedule changes. 

  • Oversee deadlines for submission of faculty evaluation results and report creation.  

  • Plan and execute various student wellness events, as well as organizing the annual Gala event throughout the year.  

  • Assign and maintain proctoring schedules and backup information for all M1 and M2 exams throughout the year.  

  • Oversee faculty and student recognition awards.  

  • Provide administrative support for department. 

  • Coordinate MSPE interviews with the associate dean. 

  • Oversee faculty access to electronic academic resources, and troubleshooting various student issues, as well as ensuring completion of annual student compliance training and completion of Kansas Medical Student Loan contracts each year.

Work Environment: 

  • In office position  

  • Hours typically 8 am to 5 pm.  Occasionally work flexible hours to accommodate student needs 

  • Obtain and maintain notary credentials 

 

Required Qualifications: 

Education: High school diploma

Work Experience: 

  • Experience working with academic programs and/or student affairs in a post-secondary environment.

  • Experience with project coordination

  • Experience working with confidential information. 

  • Experience using Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 

 

Preferred Qualifications:  

Education: Bachelor's Degree

Compensation Statement:

The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
