JOB SUMMARY:

This role is highly diverse and requires a situationally agile leader to shape and execute against the JLG global strategy by maximizing new product and project initiative success. The ideal Director will have experience working with New Product Development, Operations, and Sales in a global business. They will have led through influence by creating a hub of communication to connect stakeholders and effectively led strategic goals to completion. They will also build positive relational equity with global counterparts, team members, key customers, industry experts, suppliers, a variety of cross-functional stakeholders and direct reports to drive progress.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strong strategic mindset with the ability to connect strategy to execution across global regions.
  • Natural desire to provide coaching, direction, and situational leadership for team members to achieve results, maintain strong morale, and exemplify Oshkosh values.
  • Oversee the financial and market metrics of the product line, working with functional leads throughout the business to drive performance.
  • Establish effective cross-functional communication to ensure key stakeholders are informed
  • Lead through influence to ensure organizational leaders are bought into critical product strategy goals and assist in executing progress.
  • Partners with Peers to institutionalize systems and processes to improve overall team productivity across Platforms.
  • Represents Product Management and demonstrates product functional excellence across all levels of the organization with every interaction.
  • Expert knowledge of competitive alternatives with exceptional foresight to identify emerging model threats and act.
  • Ensure all necessary data required to make portfolio decisions is robust and reliable (e.g. Multi-Generation Product/Enhancement Plans, Market Assessments, Portfolio Long Range Models, Financial Analysis, Executive Communication, etc.)
  • Oversee all aspects of the product category, including Opportunity Identification, Portfolio/Project Prioritization, Offering Requirements, Commercialization, Promotion/Launch, and Lifecycle Management.
  • Manage product portfolio life cycle for the product line including development of the Multi Generation Product/Enhancement Plan (MGPP/MGEP) and identifying ideas for new products, line extensions, product improvements, product sunsets, simplification, aftermarket alignment, and adjacent business opportunities.
  • Partner with Engineering to prioritize Project cascades to integrate Multi Generation Technology Plan (MGTP) capabilities into MGPP/MGEP market timing requirements.
  • Work closely with Sales & Service to ensure strong alignment to capitalize on existing/emerging market needs
  • Responsible for ensuring customer and market requirements are met consistently across the product line, including branding, nomenclature, industrial design elements, portfolio health, Market Facing Descriptions, etc.
  • Provide guidance on product pricing plans, including tracking market pricing dynamics and constructing market assessments.
  • Acquire comprehensive market feedback to assist in Value Positioning Creation, messaging, adoption promoters, segmentation, target launch elements, and provide insight on Go-To-Market plans.
  • Subject Matter Expert regarding Portfolio.
  • Deliver on all Gate review requirements and successfully launch products to the market.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of related experience
  • A minimum of three (3) years of management experience
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Strong strategic mindset and an ability to lead through influence.
  • Substantiated evidence Essential Duties & Responsibilities can be successfully carried out.
  • Ability to travel 0% to 40%, this is highly dependent on business cycle and needs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Master’s degree (MBA, Marketing, Engineering, or related field)
