Position Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient NodeJS applications.
• Write clean, modular, and reusable code following Manulife best practices and coding standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Provide ongoing support and maintenance for deployed applications.
• Respond to and resolve technical issues and bugs reported by users or identified through monitoring tools.
• Implement updates and patches to ensure security and functionality of applications.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge with the team.
• Document technical specifications, processes, and changes for future reference and knowledge sharing.

• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in software development and deployment.

Required Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency in JavaScript and NodeJS, with a solid understanding of asynchronous programming and event-driven architecture.

• Experience with RESTful APIs and web services.

• Knowledge of database systems, both SQL (e.g. MySQL, MS SQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, CosmosDB).

• Understanding of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
• Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their services.
