Job Description:

Our design group is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team as we design leading-edge semiconductor devices.   We use innovative technologies to develop Microchip’s brand-new products operate correctly in their intended applications. We require dynamic, versatile engineers who want to participate in analog circuit design, verification and validation. You will work closely with leading edge technologies delivering speed up to 16Gbps on a single line that connect vehicle cameras to the main system. You will experience limitless learning and growth opportunities. Your work will add real value to Microchip’s products.

As a member of our team, you must be highly motivated to learn, have first-class knowledge and understanding of analog circuits, and problem-solving skills, be motivated to develop high-performance power-efficient analog circuits.

What we do:

  • Design high-speed automotive SerDes analog circuits (up to 16 Gbps)
  • Verify design with circuit simulator in both schematic and post-layout netlist
  • Work with validation engineer to validate and optimize the design
  • Design analog circuits to conform with DFT and SOA requirement
  • Work with characterization team to ensure reliable performance regardless of PVT variation
  • Work with digital circuit designer to come up with optimal mixed signal design
  • Create automatic test scripts to validate the circuits thoroughly on Linux using Python
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems in mixed (analog + digital) signal designs
  • Work closely with layout team for optimal layout
  • Add value to our devices by providing innovative features

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of professional experience or master’s degree in electrical/computer engineering

  • You have a systematic approach to problem-solving within a team and on your own.  When something isn’t working properly, it’s important to you to figure out why

  • Deep understanding of analog circuits
  • Mastership of analog circuit design tools like Cadence or Synopsys

Preferred Skill Set

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills
  • Ability to read and write documents in English
  • The more experience with these, the better:
    • Python and/or other scripting languages like TCL, Perl.
    • Experience on Ubuntu or other Linux OS
    • Data analysis and visualization using Excel or related program
    • Experience using lab test equipment (oscilloscope, signal generator, network analyzer, etc.)
