Designs, develops, and supports technology solutions, architectures, standards, and controls that align with organizational objectives, operational needs, governance requirements, and risk management practices. Collaborates with business and technical stakeholders to evaluate opportunities, solve complex challenges, and implement scalable, secure, and sustainable technology solutions across the enterprise.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, support, and enhance technology solutions, architectures, standards, and controls that align with organizational objectives and operational needs.

  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to identify requirements, evaluate alternatives, and recommend effective technology solutions.
  • Apply architecture principles, governance standards, security requirements, and risk management practices to technology initiatives.
  • Support the implementation, integration, and optimization of technology solutions across the enterprise.
  • Develop and maintain architecture documentation, standards, processes, and related artifacts.
  • Evaluate technologies, identify opportunities for improvement, and contribute to innovation and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Balance business, technical, operational, financial, and security considerations when developing recommendations.
  • Adhere to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary and professional manner.
  • Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU's Christian model and Mission – Training Champions for Christ.

Solutions Architect I

Learn & Support - Basic execution, exposure to systems, architecture foundation

Learns and applies enterprise architecture, security, and development fundamentals in day-to-day tasks Assists with documentation, architecture diagrams, and solution artifacts Participates in requirements gathering and stakeholder discussions (primarily observational/support role) Develops a foundational understanding of systems, integrations, and data flows Gains exposure to enterprise tools, platforms, and vendor ecosystem

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS

Education and Experience

Solutions Architect I

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field is required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 0–3 years of relevant information technology experience is required.
  • Foundational understanding of technology platforms, systems, cloud environments, software development, data management, or related disciplines is preferred.
  • Entry-level technical certifications are preferred. (AI-900 – Azure AI Fundamentals, PL-900 – Power Platform Fundamentals)

ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES ESSENTIAL TO THE FUNCTION OF THE JOB

  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well-articulated information.
  • Ability to understand, speak, read, and write English in order to communicate professionally.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work Environment

The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled setting. It is well lighted, and the noise level is moderate. Work may be performed in on-site, hybrid, or remote settings based on organizational requirements.

Driving Requirements

If the employee is required to travel in performing the duties and responsibilities of the position, the use of one's personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) may be required for travel. Proof of a valid driver's license, an acceptable DMV record, LU Driving Approval, and liability insurance is required when driving in the performance of the employee's position.

Pay Range

Compensation is determined based on factors such as qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, along with University needs and external market conditions. Market benchmarks may be used, as appropriate, in combination with internal equity to ensure pay is fair and aligned with the broader compensation structure.


The position may also be eligible for comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and tuition assistance.
