The Dealmakers and Wealth group is responsible for FactSet’s industry-leading market data, deep-dive reporting, and research management products highlighting FactSet’s proprietary content to the global financial community. These products are used by thousands of asset managers, investment bankers, and corporate clients around the world every day to assist with investment decisions, market monitoring, company and economic analysis, and sharing of buy/sell decisions and the presentation of results. D&W's product space represents a high growth opportunity for FactSet’s workstation count. 
 
The D&W SBU is focused on innovating the foundation of FactSet’s product offering. By marrying robust content, intuitive applications, and innovative technology, we defend and grow our footprint across several key user classes including investment banking, sell-side research, buy-side research, private equity, portfolio managers, traders, capital markets, investor relations, and media. This SBU contains Core Applications (Screening, Company & Security Analytics, Industry and Markets, Filings, Ownership, Research, News, and Charting). Job Description:

FactSet is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a minimum of 4+ years of experience to join our Dealmakers and Wealth Engineering group, specifically the Portfolio Advisory Manila team. This role involves designing and developing ETL-specific tools to support client data integration. 

With large wealth clients introducing tens of thousands of new users and millions of portfolios, we need to provide scalable applications to support the daily workflows of all those advisors and the future users of FactSet’s Wealth Workstation. 

 

In this role, you will:

  • Design and develop cloud-based ETL configuration and monitoring tools

  • Design and develop relational data schemas to support transactional and reporting queries

  • Ensure scalability of workflows needed to support millions of portfolios and data streams

  • Collaborate with other Exposures & Advisor Dashboard engineering teams to provide portfolio and securities data

  • Lead technical initiatives within the team to drive innovation and efficiency

  • Foster the development of good coding practices and a strong software engineering culture within the team 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

  • 4+ years of software or data engineering experience with a focus on ETL and management of large data sets

  • Experience developing cloud-based systems on AWS, Google Cloud, or similar platforms

  • Experience with scripting languages like Python or TypeScript

  • Advanced SQL skills for data manipulation, writing stored procedures, and debugging issues

  • Comfortable working in a geographically distributed team, effectively communicating across time zones 

Highly desired Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of AWS services, including Glue, RDS, Lambda, Batch, SQS, EventBridge, and others

  • Experience collaborating with clients and global stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions

  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, such as Terraform

  • Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and best practices for software testing

  • Possesses an Agile mindset with an understanding of DevOps practices
