Shift: This role is 2nd Shift, 12:45 PM-10:45 PM

Hourly Rate: $19.23 an hour

Job Summary: The Tray De-nester/Belt Inspector is responsible the following - operating efficient operation of the tray de-nester equipment, periodic inspection and adjustment of the conveyor belts, partnering with maintenance to guide defects from area, facilitating the packing of finished product promptly, completing all required paperwork promptly, and observing all safety regulations and ensuring GMP and quality standards are met. You will report to the Production Team Leader. You will work in the Council Bluffs location.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Work the scheduled/assigned times and required overtime for position
  • Regular attendance to ensure shipping requirements are met
  • Read, write, communicate, and comprehend written instructions in English
  • Move up to 40 lbs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Obtain daily schedule and supplies needed for production
  • Complete required paperwork promptly (e.g., centerline, CI inspections, minor stop tracking)
  • Perform safety check on equipment being used to ensure it is functioning properly
  • Maintain efficient operation of equipment
  • Ensure production line conveyor belts are operating
  • Fill tray denester with appropriate trays for production run
  • Verify tray sizes to ensure accuracy
  • Clear minor jams, reset and start equipment
  • Ensure good housekeeping (e.g., sweeping, mopping)
  • Participate in PM, drumbeat, and AM activities as assigned
  • May perform general labor responsibilities as assigned

Skills Required:

  • Understand the effects of product damage and loss
  • Identify defects and guide problems to resolution through CAPD (Check, Act, Plan, and Do) process
  • Knowledge of GMP's
  • Be LOTO (Lockout Tagout) certified
  • Knowledge of normal/routine
  • Work with pork, chicken, beef, and shellfish products in addition to many other ingredients and allergens

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.

Experience Required: Minimum 3 months production or related experience preferred.
