As we continue through a period of explosive growth, HedgeServ is searching for driven professionals who can make an immediate impact in our newly created Middle Office Private Equity team as well as help the overall Middle Office team as necessary.

This role combines traditional Middle Office functions - such as trade support, reconciliation, and settlement - with specialized Private Equity responsibilities, such as capital call/distribution processing.

A successful candidate will assume considerable responsibility within six to twelve months, serving as a central point of contact for Nav & MO teams on PE transactions, assisting with on-boarding new clients with the guidance of senior team members, and participating in cross-team projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in calculating and processing capital calls, capital distributions and statements for closed-end funds.
  • Work with the client and internal teams to ensure daily reconciliation breaks due to activity are resolved efficiently to mitigate risk and meet deliverables.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, external vendors, and internal stakeholders, in both written and verbal forms, to ensure correct settlement of trades and resolution of breaks.
  • Build a deep understanding of the propriety HedgeServ applications and platforms, which support functions such as Trade Capture, Security Master Setups, the creation and delivery of sensitive client Reporting, Pricing, Trade-Matching (CTM/NYFIX/ICELink) and Trade Settlements (PB/Custodian Portals).
  • Work collaboratively with the wider Middle Office teams as part of an effective Global ‘Follow the Sun’ model.
  • Contribute to the establishment of processes, standards, and culture in a newly formed Middle Office Private Equity team.
  • Handover outstanding items to relevant internal teams and escalate issues clearly and appropriately to senior management and/or development teams when necessary.

Requirements

Education:

  • Completed bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or finance.

Experience:

  • At least 5+ years’ experience in a Private Equity or Middle Office/Fund Accounting role.
  • Experience reviewing Private Equity statements (capital calls & distributions) would be an advantage.
  • Exposure to various key financial products, (i.e. Equities, Options, Futures, Fixed Income, and various derivatives) would be an asset.
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Have been in a Client Service focused role, communicating effectively with clients & vendors, and working with teams across regions.
  • Experience using multiple applications to perform daily tasks, while maintaining appropriate risk and control measures, with high accuracy rates.
  • Experience supervising/leading a team is desirable.
