Job Overview

GENERAL SUMMARY

Under the general direction of the AVP Enterprise Innovation, supports business units in documenting, analyzing, and improving operational processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and scalability across the organization. Drives continuous improvement efforts by conducting process assessments, developing future-state workflows, and applying Lean Six Sigma and process optimization initiatives. Works across cross-functional projects, gathers data to identify improvement opportunities, and works collaboratively with business and technology partners to implement process changes that deliver measurable business outcomes.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports department-wide process improvement and Lean Six Sigma initiatives by partnering on process optimization strategies, documenting current-state processes and identifying inefficiencies or improvement opportunities.

  • Develops future-state process maps, standard operating procedures (SOPs), improvement recommendations, project scopes, and success metrics.

  • Gathers data and conducts analysis to support the development of improvement recommendations that improve productivity, quality, revenue, service delivery, and workflow optimization.

  • Assists in the facilitation of workshops, process mapping sessions, stakeholder interviews, and root-cause analysis activities.

  • Partners with business units and Technology Services to identify opportunities for automation, workflow simplification, and process standardization.

  • Supports the development, documentation, and tracking of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure effectiveness and sustainability of improvements and process changes.

  • Prepares reports, presentations, and communication materials to share findings and recommendations with leadership and project stakeholders.

  • Promotes continuous improvement practices across the organization by sharing tools, templates, and best practices.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.   

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.

  • Three (3) or more years of experience in process improvement, business analysis, or operational excellence roles.

  • Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies, tools, and techniques (such as DMAIC, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, and root-cause analysis).

  • Skill in process mapping, documenting workflows, and developing clear written procedures.

  • Skill in gathering and analyzing data to support findings and recommendations.

  • Ability to facilitate small group discussions, workshops, and process documentation sessions.

  • Knowledge of data analysis and performance measurement techniques, including KPI development and tracking.

  • Skill with process mapping and analysis tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart, ARIS).

  • Skill with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).

  • Knowledge of business process management concepts and workflow automation opportunities.

  • Ability to apply change management principles and approaches for embedding process improvements.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with competing deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.

  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners at varying levels of the organization.

  • Skill in written and verbal communication, including preparing presentations and reports for diverse audiences.

  • Skill in supporting process improvement or continuous improvement projects.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Airport Identification/Access Badge (badge) in accordance with Department of Homeland Security Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requirements in Chapter 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 1500 et al., and DFW Airport’s Airport Security Program within thirty (30) days from date of employment and maintain qualification for a SIDA badge upon each badge renewal.

DESIRED

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification, or ability to obtain within 12 months.

  • Experience with business process management (BPM) platforms or workflow automation tools.

  • Familiarity with Agile or Design Thinking methodologies.
