Job Summary:
As a Multibody Dynamics Simulation Engineer at Caterpillar, you will perform multibody dynamics simulation for construction machinery and mining equipment. Areas of responsibility include simulation model building and integration, simulation – test correlation, structure load prediction and machine and sub-system performance evaluation. What You Will Do:
• Multibody dynamics simulation model building and integration
• Structure load prediction for structural simulation team
• Machine and sub-system performance evaluation and optimization
• Test plan creation and following up
• Simulation – test correlation
• Track on the development of multi-body dynamics simulation technologies, and continuous improvement on simulation accuracy and efficiency
Work Experience and Education requirement:
• 3years+ relevant work experience.
• Requires a master’s degree or above in Mechanics, Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace, or equivalent fields.
What skills you will have:
Simulation Model Building:
• Develop a deep working knowledge of operation and application of construction machinery and mining equipment.
• Build multibody dynamics simulation model, scope of which include linkage, tire and soil / rock etc.
• Integrate sub-system models, including power system, hydraulic system, control system and operator model etc.
• Assess the simulation model issues and debug the model efficiently.
• Responsible for model garage development and simulation model management.
• Rigid body kinematics analysis of complex systems.
Structure Load Prediction:
• Provide the simulated structure load to structure simulation team.
• Work together with structure simulation team and design team on machine structure validation and optimization.
Machine and Sub-system Performance Evaluation:
• Refine the simulation model with detailed sub-system models based on project requirements.
• Evaluate machine level performance, like digging force, productivity and fuel/power economy.
Simulation – Test Correlation
• Work together with test team on test plan and follow up the test.
• Test data analysis.
• Perform correlation between simulation and test.
• Write detailed technical reports and simulation documents to clearly communicate simulation results and recommendations
Programming and data processing
• Master at least one programming language, such as Python, MATLAB, C++
• Ability to write scripts and tools to improve simulation efficiency and automation
Additional Information:
The location for this position is Wuxi, Jiangsu
This position will require less than 10% travel.
