The Opportunity

To support the growth of our Power Transformers business, we are looking for an Internal Mechanical Design Training Expert. This role combines deep technical expertise with a passion for developing people. You will help secure, structure and disseminate critical Engineering knowledge across our European Engineering Community. You will work closely with Mechanical Designers and subject matter experts across our locations in Bad Honnef, Cordoba, Lodz, Ludvika, Monselice and Vaasa and collaborate with TrafoSchool and the wider global training Community. Reporting within the Hub Engineering Organization, your primary accountability will be to prepare and deliver training while staying up to date with the latest Engineering practice.

How you will make an impact

  • Work with Engineering Managers to identify competency gaps and learning priorities.

  • Capture critical know-how and transform expert knowledge into structured learning content.

  • Prepare, maintain and continuously improve Engineering training material focused on Core, Windings, Active Part and Cleats & Leads Design.

  • Design and deliver training sessions for both new and experienced Internal Mechanical Design Engineers.

  • Adapt training methods and communication style to different audiences, experience levels and learning needs.

  • Support the implementation, maintenance and assessment of Engineering skills matrices, learning paths and certification programs.

  • Promote knowledge sharing and collaboration across the European Engineering Community.

  • Monitor training effectiveness and propose improvements based on feedback and performance indicators.

  • Perform up to 30% Design work to remain connected to the latest Mechanical Design practices.

  • Contribute to Engineering improvement projects where deep expertise in transformer mechanical Design is required.

Your background

  • MSc in Electrical Engineering.

  • At least 10 years of experience in Power Transformers Internal Mechanical Design.

  • Transformer Design Expertise: Deep expertise in Power Transformer design, including Core, Windings, Active Part, and Cleats & Leads, with the ability to translate customer requirements into effective design solutions.

  • Technical Standards & Manufacturing Knowledge: Strong knowledge of international standards (IEC, IEEE, etc.), internal design/manufacturing standards, transformer manufacturing processes, testing requirements, DFM principles, and production issue resolution.

  • Engineering Tools & Systems: Proficient in PTC Creo, SAP, and Mechanical Design engineering tools (e.g., SpecTra-M); familiarity with PLM/Windchill, BOM management, material selection, and supplier interaction.

  • Quality & Continuous Improvement: Experience in design reviews, DFMEA, root cause analysis, quality processes, and continuous improvement methodologies to ensure robust and reliable product designs.

  • Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and practical way.

  • Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills.

  • Experience developing training material, technical documentation or learning programs.

  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively across cultures and locations.

  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.

  • Willingness to travel regularly across Europe.

The minimum salary for this position in the location specified is as follows:

Starting from: 76,400 € gross annual

The final offer will be based on candidate location, skills and qualifications, experience, and aligned with internal pay structures.
