GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
In partnership with the Iowa Economic Development Authority (EDA) and the Iowa Insurance Division (IID) through the Insure Your Future program, AEL aims to encourage career exploration and professional skills development by providing interns the opportunity to rotate through various experiences across the organization. Alongside real-world experience, interns will have opportunities to meet, network, and build leadership skills through a series of four leadership development sessions facilitated by the Iowa Economic Development Authority.
This 10-week internship program focuses on exposing interns to AEL’s diverse business units and accelerating professional skills development through claims organizations, active networking, and relationship-building. We are seeking candidates with a passion for continuous learning and an interest in exploring new roles within the insurance industry.
The primary role of the Sales Enablement Intern is to provide ongoing support to the American Equity Distribution teams by assisting them in identifying opportunities, providing analytics on sales cycles, gathering sales data for sales management which results in driving sales toward our fixed & fixed index annuity product lines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Shadow Internal Sales Consultants, Sales Support Specialists, and Case Management Specialists to learn the essential duties and functions of the roles.
· Gain a basic-level of understanding around annuities and how they fit into the financial planning process.
· Learn and understand the project you are working on and implement a solution by the end of the 10-week internship.
· Learn and Utilize various software tools to perform vital job functions. Salesforce CRM, Illustration Software, Customer Service Database. Etc.
· Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Finance, Economics, Business Management or a similar field.
