The Disease & Product Knowledge team, a sub-team of the WW Commercialization Learning Centre of Excellence, is a dynamic learning team that is delivering excellence in building expertise and knowledge for our field force.
Position Summary
The Disease & Product Knowledge team is currently looking for a talented individual who possesses the skills needed to ensure both the immediate and long-term success of WW Commercialization Learning. This individual will lead through a complex matrixed organization to drive the development of foundational and ongoing educational content, aligned with WW Medical Affairs and Commercialization strategy, to ensure our medical teams are equipped to engage in robust and scientifically accurate discussions with HCPs, getting our medicines to patients faster.
The selected candidate will work WW Medical Learning, WW Medical Affairs, WW Medical Communications, Market Field Medical Leadership, Global Field Medical Excellence, Congress Excellence, WW Enterprise Learning, WW Commercialization Learning, WW/US Brand Teams, and Legal to design, develop and manage the creation of educational content for medical teams (field and home office). This individual will partner with the commercial-focused disease and product knowledge counterpart to ensure efficient and seamless coordination across medical and commercial teams.
This portfolio of work will include foundational and ongoing medical education to ensure pre-launch market preparation, educational content in support of BMS Tier 1 and 2 clinical trials supported by medical teams, pivotal BMS and competitor congress data and related manuscripts, as well as pan-TA education such as biostatistics. Such content would require appropriate reviews, updates and approvals driven by this individual.
This position will require application of instructional design theory and process to create a variety of learning solutions that improve business results. The selected candidate will support the Heme/Cellular Therapy business but ultimately, the focus of support will be determined by business priorities, creating opportunities to support any/all business units / therapeutic areas.
Core Responsibilities
Lead the strategic design, development, and implementation of disease, product, data, and clinical trial learning needs, aligned to BMS priorities and medical and commercial strategy.
Key focus will be on pre- and post-launch scientific readiness training programs, encompassing disease state, epidemiology, pathogenesis, risk factors, prognostic factors, patient presentation, the multidisciplinary team, patient journey, competitive landscape, and our pivotal BMS clinical trials.
Coordinate and support the WW/US Scientific Learning Leads to drive training around business critical BMS competitor data releases at major congresses (US/ex-US). Content design and development may include support of embargo data training, data training workshops, and post congress data contextualization’s.
Analyze current processes for creating scientific foundation learning for medical and commercial, identifying opportunities for shared utility across US and WW markets, and across medical and commercial functional teams, and create a streamlined design realizing quality and efficiencies.
Coordinate with US/WW Commercialization Learning Leads to ensure relevant content is embedded in new hire onboarding and launch plans.
Create and/or adapt materials and tools for internal use that support field and home office medical teams in the effective delivery of BMS product information and data to healthcare professionals.
Align with critical stakeholders (e.g., WW Medical Scientific Learning, WW Commercialization Learning, WW Medical Affairs, Medical Communications, US Medical Affairs, US FM Leadership, Global Field Medical Excellence, Congress Excellence) in partnership with US and WW Scientific Learning Leads to ensure all educational content and resources are aligned to business objectives, medical/commercial strategy.
Collaborate across the disease and product knowledge team to optimize the foundational learning experience for field medical teams and achieve cost efficiencies by aligning the foundational curricula for both medical and commercial teams.
Manage external vendors (i.e., training content developers and project managers) and coordinate with colleagues to ensure the successful design and deployment of assigned training programs and projects.
Ensure training resources meet all medical, regulatory, and legal requirements for assigned individual projects and initiatives.
In partnership with the Director, lead the strategy in the optimization of the global training asset approval process and mitigation of redundant in-market effort, creating efficiencies in market training and enabling market trainers and their in-market matrix teams to focus their efforts on their most impactful work.
Ensure ongoing analysis of basic and advanced training needs based on current and future requirements of the business, local markets, and the changing internal/external environment.
Identify, recommend, and implement new instructional technologies, innovative instructional practices, and new course delivery methods.
Assess and analyze the effectiveness of disease & product learning solutions leveraging standard metrics.
Act as a subject matter expert when applicable and when additional expertise is required effectively establish and sustain relationships with subject matter experts to guide content development.
Other Responsibilities
Completes all assigned SOPs and training within designated timeframe and adheres to job-specific SOPs, WPs, and Guidance Documents
Coordinate and align with commercialization matrix partners (e.g., US/WW Medical Learning Leads, Commercialization Learning Leads)
Manages vendors and budgets related to book of work; complies with all procurement SOPs for submitting SOWs and acquiring POs.
Manages and maintains training materials, strategic plans, etc. using BMS platforms.
Attend business critical medical meetings, inclusive of major congresses and field medical meetings (live or virtually)
Qualifications & Experience
Advanced degree preferred: MD, DO, PharmD, DNP, PhD, or MSN
5+ years TA experience preferred.
3+ years pharmaceutical / biotech experience as a field medical or commercial lead or similar field-based position with a proven track record of success
Minimum of 3 years instructional design or product management experience preferred.
Knowledge and experience in developing and delivering innovative training solutions using a variety of technologies (eLearning, mobile learning, virtual instructor led learning, video, VR/AR)
Ability to effectively interact cross-functionally and cross-markets.
Ability to assess workload and prioritize projects under tight deadlines.
Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to build and maintain internal and external partnerships.
Ability to manage and coordinate complex projects with exceptional organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Power Point, Excel and Word and other applications
Ability to prioritize business needs and make timely decisions based on available data.
Ability to travel 10% of time.
This position will be based in either Lawrence Township/PPK, Uxbridge/UK or Boudry, Switzerland and requires the candidate to be on site 50% of their working time on a rolling two-week basis.
