What You’ll Do
The Identity and Access Management Specialist at Freeman Health System serves as the guardian of staff identity and access, ensuring the protection of critical and confidential information owned or managed by the organization. This role is responsible for account lifecycle management, auditing, and the ongoing maintenance, testing, and optimization of Identity Governance and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC). The Analyst collaborates with application teams to support the deployment of new applications and functionality, contributes to workflow development, system configuration, and documentation, and ensures compliance by effectively communicating policies and procedures to end users, leadership, and peers. Additionally, the Analyst provides guidance on security best practices based on minimum necessary standards, leads small to medium-scale projects, works independently while supporting team and organizational goals, and actively participates in continuous improvement initiatives across Freeman Health System.
Responsibilities:
Manage user account lifecycle, including provisioning, securing, and deactivating access across systems (e.g., Active Directory, Office365, third-party apps).
Support and implement Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) strategies and integrations.
Collaborate on the design, implementation, and support of IAM technologies.
Ensure standardized processes for provisioning and role management during new system rollouts.
Maintain and update security protocols to protect system access and data.
Document and archive authorization evidence per internal standards.
Manage directory permissions and reconcile access discrepancies.
Serve as a subject matter expert for Identity Governance and RBAC.
Assist with IAM tool troubleshooting and support application upgrades and evaluations.
Resolve security and workflow issues independently or with IS teams.
Enforce access policies in compliance with Minimum Necessary Rules.
Conduct audits, risk assessments, and implement audit recommendations.
Disable dormant accounts and remove unnecessary access.
Develop access and security plans based on operational needs.
Create and maintain documentation for procedures, configurations, and technical settings.
Generate reports for analysis and issue resolution related to IAM.
Provide support for Microsoft O365 shared resources (e.g., distribution lists, shared mailboxes).
Support enrollment and management of MFA, SSO, EPCS, and MDM.
Recommend and implement process improvements and task automation.
Participate in an on-call rotation to support 24/7 operations.
Requirements
Associate Degree in Healthcare, Information Technology, Business, or related field (2 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree in addition to experience below)
1 year relevant work experience Software experience: Active Directory, Microsoft O365, ServiceNow or Identity and Access management applications
Preferred Requirements:
Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), Microsoft Outlook or Azure, or other IAM tools
