AirAsia X is seeking a dynamic and competent Station Manager – Bahrain International Airport to be part of the best airline team in the sky!
The overall purpose of the role is to ensure the effective and efficient management of our station in Bahrain. The position is accountable for on-time departures, baggage handling, excess baggage collection and travel document compliance. The Station Manager is also responsible for maintaining the highest level of safety, security and service standards for ground operations at the station.

Ensure optimum payload, safe, efficient, and on-time departures
Oversee passenger, baggage, and cargo handling in line with company procedures
Monitor Ground Handler performance to meet AirAsia X service standards
Ensure full compliance with company accounting procedures at the station
Maintain strong working relationships with local government and regulatory bodies
Provide leadership and support to station personnel, ensuring operational manuals are updated and accessible
Manage and be accountable for any monetary transactions at the station
Coordinate with agencies to enhance performance and profitability
Recommend and implement process improvements to boost efficiency and reduce costs
Submit daily and monthly reports to Headquarters on time
Make operational decisions within authorized scope, escalating when necessary
Strive for zero defects in ground handling services
Ensure on-time performance through effective coordination with Ground Handlers and CIQ authorities
Represent AirAsia X in airport-related meetings and official functions
Liaise with CIQ, police, civil aviation, and other security authorities as required
Verify and approve invoices related to station operations before submission to Finance
Respond to guest complaints with prompt and appropriate remedial action
Ensure station expenditures remain within budget
Ensure station operations comply with regulatory safety, security, crisis, and emergency standards
Compile and maintain all required reports, statistics, and budgets for the station
Oversee revisions and updates of station manuals and compliance with audit requirements
Maintain authority to make decisions related to low-risk safety/security events and escalate higher-risk issues as needed
Ensure ground operations are conducted in accordance with applicable regulations and AAX standards
Diploma/Degree in any discipline or equivalent extensive experience in airport operations
Minimum 5 years of experience in team leadership within airline ground operations, preferably as a Station Manager
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Proven ability to build and manage relationships with airport authorities and regulators
Skilled in managing a diverse, shift-based workforce
Proficient in:
Government regulations (customs, immigration, CIQ matters)
Company policies and SOPs
Dangerous goods handling
Aircraft loading procedures
Flight security and incident reporting
Safety and ground ops protocols
