Senior Director, Security Operation Center (SOC) - Onsite - Brampton, ON

We are excited to welcome a passionate leader and visionary to our team who will report to the SVP Cyber Security, Network and Technology Risk.  In this role you will help to centralize security functions within our team to continuously monitor and improve Loblaws Security posture while preventing, detecting, analyzing, and responding to cybersecurity incidents.

What You Will Do:

  • Prioritize the implementation of agile methodologies within the security team, breaking down complex projects into manageable sprints and facilitating iterative progress.  
  • Dedicated to cultivating high-performing teams by setting clear goals, providing ongoing mentorship, and fostering a collaborative culture.  Empowering the team to stive and deliver outstanding results.  
  • Solving complex problems involves a blend of strategic foresight and hands-on problem-solving, ensuring that security operations are not only reactive but also proactive in mitigating potential risks.  
  • Implement best practices and industry standards to ensure that security infrastructure is robust, resilient, and capable of defending against sophisticated threats.  
  • Work closely with product teams to integrate security best practices into the development lifecycle from the earliest stages by embedding security considerations into product design and development.
  • Align security strategies with the organization’s technology infrastructure and objectives, to evaluate and enhance security architecture, ensuring that it supports both current and future technological needs.  
  • Through strategic collaboration and a commitment to security excellence, drive the effective implementation of robust controls and governance practices, ensuring that a dynamic environment remains secure and compliant.
  • When confronted with complex challenges or urgent threats, assess the situation swiftly, evaluate potential solutions, and make informed decisions that safeguard the organization’s assets and reputation.   

What You Will Need:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in a relevant area of study with a preference for Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • Demonstrated experience leading high performing security teams in large complex organizations
  • Already hold or the willingness to obtain relevant certifications such as GIAC, CISSP, CISM
  • Deep technical knowledge in IT technology, security technology, security threats and trends
  • Proficient skills in Cloud infrastructure, Network, Operating systems, and software development
  • In depth knowledge around identity management, authentication, and encryption
  • Experience in leveraging data analytic platforms specifically for security use cases
  • Ability to present ideas in a clear and concise manner while tailoring your communication style and messaging to the various audiences
