Job Description:

SUMMARY

The Maintenance Manager-Project Manager ensures the safe, reliable operation of plant equipment and mechanical systems. Provide for the highest level of crew safety and support to mechanics supervised and provide needed technical assistance.  They develop and execute capital project plans, with focus on maintenance repair/replace projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES  

  • Ensure daily safe operations and crew safety

  • Lead and manage assigned maintenance and other personnel as required

  • Assign and ensure all work is done safely and correctly

  • Prepare required reports and maintain data and other records as required

  • Maintain the highest level of equipment up time within areas of responsibility

  • Develop and improve the capabilities of assigned maintenance personnel and equipment

  • Capital Project Management

    • Project cost estimates and AFCE development, detail design for total project funding and planning

    • Manage capital projects to successful completion

    • Communicate and report progress on a regular basis

    • Track and control spending to within AFCE approved level

  • Assist in developing short and long term capital plans

Technical knowledge/skills

  • Strong safety and housekeeping orientation and knowledge of MSHA rules and regulations

  • Strong understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance techniques

  • Experience in planning and scheduling maintenance work

  • Experience of root cause analysis in problem solving and equipment failures

  • Capital & Expense Project Management (intermediate to advanced knowledge)

General knowledge/skills

  • Computer (intermediate knowledge)

  • Microsoft Office/Google Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook/G-Suite) (intermediate knowledge)

Leadership/Supervision

  • Responsible for planning, organizing, and directing personnel to meet plant objectives

  • Coordinate activities between multiple contractors / departments

  • Direct supervision of Capital & Maintenance projects and personnel

  • Maintains accountability of contractors and SGI employees for project schedule and budget related goals

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

  • Five (5+) years maintenance supervisory experience

  • Five (5+) years capital/expense project management experience

  • Preferred experience in limestone mining, crushing, milling and pulverizing

Travel Requirements:  Limited domestic travel

Working Conditions:  Work is performed in enclosed facilities and outdoor areas where extremes of heat, cold, dust, noise, wet conditions and rough terrain exist. Approximately 30% of the work is administrative in nature

Physical Requirements: Prolonged sitting/standing, lifting objects (up to 40 lbs), extended/irregular hours, bending, climbing, kneeling, stooping

Consideration will be given based on geography, candidate experience, and qualifications.

Annual Salary Range: 117,000-149,500
