Valuation Control Lead Analyst

The Valuation Control Group (VCG) is an independent team of subject matter experts within the Finance Division. VCG’s primary responsibility is to reasonably ensure that risk portfolios are fairly valued in accordance with applicable standards and regulatory requirements. In doing so, the team works closely with its stakeholders, including senior management, business heads, product control, market risk, regulators, and both internal and external audit.

The Valuation Control Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible for leading efforts in the Independent Price Verification, Valuation Adjustment and Fair Value Hierarchy processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate experience of process automations in the area of derivatives valuations, with a good understanding of Independent Price Verification (IPV)
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of the bank's analytics, platforms, systems infrastructure in order to provide strategic solutions to VCG's automation requirements, particularly in IPV.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of Valuation Control industry trends.
  • Contribute to the directional strategy of the Valuation Control function, anticipating the impact to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Evaluate and resolve complex valuation issues and select the best action by weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting needs.
  • Can exercise independence of judgement and significant autonomy.

Ideal background:

  • 6-10 years of relevant experience
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Good command of spoken and written English
  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience, Masters Degree preferred
