$33.05 - $49.60

Job Summary:

We are excited to announce an opportunity to join our ED Telepsychiatry and Virtual Patient Navigation team as a Telemental Health Clinician II. In this role, you will provide behavioral health consultations and post-discharge follow-up care for patients in acute care emergency departments across North Carolina and Georgia. You’ll collaborate closely with emergency department teams and psychiatry providers to deliver comprehensive assessments, develop treatment plans, and ensure continuity of care. This position offers the flexibility of remote work while making a meaningful impact on patient outcomes.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct assessments and psychosocial evaluations using DSM criteria.
  • Implement crisis plans and provide interventions for high-risk patients (suicidal, homicidal, psychotic, aggressive).
  • Maintain current knowledge and expertise in behavioral health and treatment modalities.
  • Identify and resolve barriers to accessing behavioral health services.
  • Adhere to professional standards and licensing board ethics.
  • Communicate effectively (written and verbal) with medical staff, leadership, and team members.
  • Document assessments and progress updates in the medical record per departmental standards.
  • Demonstrate sound clinical judgment and decision-making in a fast-paced environment.
  • Participate in policy development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Collaborate with team members to manage consults through a shared patient list.

Physical Requirements

  • Work is completed virtually from a home office with long periods of sitting.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts.
  • Must be able to travel to the virtual hub in South Charlotte (28209) if connectivity issues arise.
  • Must reside within 150 miles of the virtual hub (1601 Abbey Place, Charlotte, NC 28209).

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited graduate school OR
  • Associate’s degree in Nursing (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • Full current licensure in applicable state: LCMHC, LCSW, LPA, LMFT, or RN.
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience required.
  • Experience in behavioral health, emergency/crisis work, and virtual/remote care preferred.
