Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Tactical Space Systems Division is seeking a qualified Principal Financial Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located on site in Dulles, VA and will report to the Manager of Financial Planning & Reporting.
Roles and responsibilities will encompass the following, and vary slightly depending on specific position, program, or business unit to which you are assigned:
- Actively working with a team to achieve organizational and individual goals
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting data and analyses in support of the Company's US Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) disclosure requirements
- Support the monthly reporting close process, including preparation of variance analysis
- Support the development of division-level financial forecasts and profitability determination
- Coordination and collaboration with BU/OU/Program teams on a recurring basis
- Proactive process improvement approach to recurring deliverables, with a focus on increased data fidelity and reduced cycle time
Candidates must be able to make sound decisions in a timely manner, display strong interpersonal skills, and have an agile perspective or compliance protocol mandated by regulated industry.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and 5+ years of relevant experience as outlined - OR - a Master's degree with 3+ years of related experience. An additional 4 years of experience accepted in lieu of a degree.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite - specifically high-level Excel skills (including: the ability to insert pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and conditional formatting, etc.).
- Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking and, innovative behaviors in past projects, roles, or experiences.
- Experience in program finance and accounting which includes EAC control.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented.
- Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a current, active Top Secret/SCI Clearance. US Citizenship is a prerequisite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with COGNOS TM1.
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint ERP.
Salary Range: $88,700.00 - $133,100.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
