Program Overview

  • Rotate every 24 to 36 months through a variety of actuarial roles such as Pricing, Valuation, Experience Analytics, Risk Management, Asset Liability Management, Corporate Oversight and so much more.
  • Formal support through your FSA/FCIA journey, including paid study time off, financial support for modules, exams, study materials and textbooks.
  • Increasing level of responsibility and compensation in conjunction with work performance and successful progression through the actuarial exams.
  • Membership into the largest actuarial community in Canada with access to exclusive actuarial social events.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Help design and price insurance and annuity products.
  • Play a key role in establishing actuarial assumptions, quantifying reserves, and meeting regulatory and capital requirements.
  • Provide analysis and sound advice to business partners to help meet our strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with management to identify risks and opportunities while taking initiatives to improve the business performance.
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement through ongoing analysis of procedures and actuarial methodologies. Develop better insights and processes by leveraging the latest technology.

What you’ll bring to the team

  • Working towards a University degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Possessing relevant actuarial experience and demonstrating a strong commitment towards FSA/FCIA designations (e.g. passing at least one SOA exam) are considered assets.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, organizational, communication and leadership skills.
  • Solution-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter and team player with a high level of initiative and strong work ethic.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Excel is required. Experience with AXIS or other actuarial software is an asset.

La nature de votre contribution

  • Aider à la conception et à la tarification des produits d’assurance et de rente.
  • Jouer un rôle clé dans l’établissement d’hypothèses actuarielles, la quantification des provisions et le respect des exigences réglementaires et des exigences relatives au capital.
  • Fournir des analyses et des conseils judicieux aux partenaires d’affaires pour atteindre nos objectifs stratégiques.
  • Collaborer avec la direction pour cerner les risques et les opportunités tout en prenant des initiatives pour améliorer le rendement de la Société.
  • Contribuer à la culture d’amélioration continue par l’analyse des procédures des méthodologies actuarielles. Développer de meilleures connaissances et de meilleurs processus par l’utilisation des technologies les plus récentes.

Ce que vous apporterez à l’équipe

  • Le travail pour l’obtention d’un diplôme universitaire en science actuarielle, en mathématiques, en finances ou dans une discipline connexe.
  • Une expérience actuarielle pertinente et la démonstration d’un engagement ferme pour l’obtention des titres professionnels FSA/FICA (p. ex. réussir au moins un examen de la SOA) sont considérées des atouts.
  • Excellentes aptitudes pour les relations interpersonnelles, l’organisation, la communication et le leadership.
  • Solide esprit d’analyse et excellentes compétences en résolution de problèmes, démarche axée sur les solutions.
  • Autonomie, esprit d’équipe et haut niveau d’initiative, et grande éthique de travail.
  • Excellente connaissance pratique d’Excel. Expérience avec AXIS ou d’autres logiciels actuariels, un atout.

Salary & Benefits

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

Primary Location

Montreal, Quebec

Salary range is expected to be between

$52,010.00 CAD - $96,590.00 CAD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
