A Brief OverviewCoordinates and oversees office and technical operations within Methodist Le Bonheur Community Outreach (MLCO) teams to support the medical and community workers to achieve positive outcomes for patients/clients. Performs a variety of administrative, technical and financial activities to ensure office operations runs smooth and efficiently. What you will do- Manages and maintains comprehensive data platforms used to report on program outcomes and effectiveness for MLCO programs.
- Manages and screens all referrals made to assigned MLCO programs.
- Responsible for scheduling, monitoring, and follow-up of patients/clients in assigned programs.
- Coordinates and maintains an efficient office operation and performs administrative and finanical duties of a moderately complex and confidential nature.
- Performs other job functions as assigned or requested.
Education/Formal Training Requirements- Required - High School Diploma or Equivalent
Work Experience Requirements- Required - Database management 3-5 years
- Preferred - Administrative or clerical 3-5 years
- Preferred - Office coordination 3-5 years
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities- Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office program (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and/or SPSS or Minitab.
- Must have excellent customer service and communication skills with the ability to effectively calm patients/clients and be able to deal with distressed and/or agitated patients/clients and their families.
- Proficient with standard report writing tools such as Crystal reports, Business objects, Penolope and Redcap.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data to assist decision making.
- Ability to understand and compose moderately complex written materials.
- Ability to work without close supervision, exercise independent judgment, and communicate effectively with staff where tact, diplomacy, and good judgment are essential.
- Ability to work independently, exercise creativity, be attentive to detail, and maintain a positive attitude.
- Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and to prioritize duties/tasks.
- Ability to initiate communication with patients/clients, their families and hospital visitors.
- Knowledge of medical insurances (Medicare, HMO’s, PPO’s, commercial), EMTALA regulations, hospital billing and collection process and /or grant processes, invoices and deliverables.
- Ability to motivate and influence people.
Supervision Provided by this Position- There are no supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this position
Physical Demands- The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
- Must have good balance and coordination.
- The physical requirements of this position are: light work - exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
- The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
- The conditions to which the Associate will be subject in this position: The Associate is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions; job functions are typically performed under conditions such as those found in general office or administrative work.
