As a Data Quality Analyst II, you will work with a team of Bristol Myers Squibb to provide day-to-day delivery of data quality analysis and data profiling solutions and recommendations. Primary focus will be to provide delivery of data verification for various source/target databases and systems, ensuring data quality support within the Master Data and Reference data, including dashboards, metrics, etc. Secondary will be to assist, when needed, Platform Engineering with Data Quality software patches and platform-dependent services, could include internally built DQ tool.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

You will report into the Lead for Enterprise Master and Reference Data Products in Hyderabad. You will have accountability to provide data quality (DQ) analysis, develop jobs for Data Profiling, Data Verification, User Provisioning, Data Quality tool monitoring, Create DQ Dashboards, Vendor interaction to understand issue resolution. To provide appropriate user experience, you will collaborate with Master data and reference data teams, Data Engineering, and data partners. You will be responsible to implement new solutions, work on enhancements and service requests related to data quality. 

The Data Quality capability functions as a center-of-excellence who provides DQ standards, templates, tools, and DQ services such as data profiling and data verification, mostly to the Master and Reference Data Product data assets. This role offers the selected candidate the opportunity to interact with Bristol Myers Squibb professionals globally, partnering with other IT organizations and business organizations across the company. You will work with passionate and motivated individuals. As a member of the Enterprise Master and Reference Data Products, you will have the opportunity to gain insight into all faucets of Bristol Myers Squibb businesses from early discovery to manufacturing & logistics to commercial and financial operations. You will be a valued member of the Enterprise Data Quality team focused on providing data quality capabilities for the Master Data, including Customer, Product, Competitor product, Clinical Site and Reference data, that enables the Bristol Myers Squibb mission to discover, develop and deliver innovative medicines that help patients prevail over serious diseases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to define Key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop measurement plans to track progress towards business goals.
  • Develop and implement data tracking strategies to ensure accurate and reliable data product.
  • Investigate and resolve data quality issues, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Plan, create and run Data Profiling jobs.
  • Plan, design and execute Data Verification
  • Provide User Provisioning (add or remove users)
  • Create and/or enhance data quality (DQ) Dashboards
  • Collaborate with the Infrastructure teams for capacity planning / performance optimization.
  • Provide proactive and appropriate communication (written and verbally) to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Execute data quality jobs and collaborate with ITQA and ITVS teams.
  • Participate in recurring and ad-hoc meetings related to DQ activities between Hyderabad and US teams.
  • Based on the need Provide non-business hours, weekend, on-call support on rotational basis for production releases.
  • Support Master and Reference Data Products and Assets with DQ analysis, verification, profiling and readouts to improve data quality within the Master data over time.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Data Management, data verification (and its dimensions), data Profiling.
  • 3+ years hands-on experience in Data Verification developing DQ test approach, test plan for appropriate DQ dimensions using technologies like ETL Tools, SQL, Python and AWS Glue DataBrew.
  • Working experience is needed in working within enterprise AWS Cloud environment and industry-standard databases.   
  • Expertise in data visualization tools like tableau, Power BI.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Critical thinking to analyze complex data challenges.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data querying and analysis.
  • Nice to have knowledge or experience in other data quality tools /technologies.
  • Understanding of Cloud Services Platforms such as AWS, Salesforce, Veeva, etc.
  • Proven experience as a member of an application development or production support team with knowledge of common SDLC models.
  • Experience in application development lifecycle.
  • Excellent team player attitude; and ability to work independently, time management, and manage work queue for timely deliverables of assignments.
